Disney Lorcana Is Getting a Digital Game, and That’s Just the Start of the D23 AnnouncementsRavensburger has officially announced Hyperia City, the newest Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game set, and it is packed with incredible new content. From beloved Disney and Pixar characters to a brand new game mechanic, Hyperia City is shaping up to be a must have for collectors and players alike.
Welcome to Hyperia City
Hyperia City is a breathtaking new location where metropolitan life meets the fantastical. Illumineers (that’s you, the players!) are invited to explore a vibrant city full of musical street performances, incredible shops, and a buzzing nightlife scene. The city is divided into unique neighborhoods and boroughs, each with their own personality from the City Center and Wandering Straits to the charming Old Towne Hyperia.
One of the most exciting new neighborhoods is the Marigold District, where glimmers from Disney and Pixar’s Coco make their Disney Lorcana debut! These beloved characters will be putting on melodious street performances and bringing their signature warmth and music to the game for the very first time. And over at the edge of the city sits M.A.G.I.C. — the Multidisciplinary Academy for Genius, Imagination, and Creativity — where Big Hero 6’s Honey Lemon and other brainy glimmers are busy experimenting with a brand new technology.
Brand New Mechanic: Ink Drops
Speaking of that new technology — Hyperia City introduces ink drops, a completely new game mechanic that is sure to shake things up at the table. Ink drops are counters that give players a one time use ink they can spend to play cards from their hand or power up other cards.
Lead Game Designer Lukas Litzsinger explained: “Ink drops can completely change the tempo of a game. We really wanted to focus in on a single mechanic in this set, and we’re excited to see how players will experiment with using them in their decks.”
This is a really intriguing addition for competitive players, and it sounds like it opens up a lot of creative new deck building strategies.
Stunning Cards to Hunt For
The artwork in Hyperia City sounds absolutely gorgeous. The set’s Enchanted cards capture unforgettable city moments think a concert you’ll never forget or burning the midnight oil on a passion project. The two Iconic cards, which are the rarest in the entire game, are Mickey Mouse – Best in Town (first revealed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event) and Cinderella – Unintentional Icon.
Looking Ahead: Into the Inkdark and Beyond
Ravensburger also dropped some exciting news about what’s coming in 2027. The first set of next year is called Into the Inkdark, and it sounds deliciously dark — Hades is up to something sinister beneath the realm of Lorcana with some fiery new ambitions.
Into the Inkdark also introduces collector boosters, a brand new product type available at select Ravensburger Play Hub stores as well as Disney Parks and stores. Collector boosters contain 12 randomized cards of all rarities just like regular packs, but they are the only place to find Illustrious cards — the very first serialized Disney Lorcana TCG cards. Each Illustrious card features bespoke art from popular artists in their unique styles, with prominent artist credits and stunning embellishments. Only 23 of each Illustrious card will ever be printed across the entire set of six, making these incredibly rare finds.
And looking even further ahead — Spring 2027 brings a Cosmic Quest set featuring Ariel, Flounder, Stitch, his alien experiments, and the very first appearances of WALL•E and EVE in Lorcana! Plus, late 2027 promises a mysterious “magical mayhem” set that we can’t wait to hear more about.
When Can You Get It?
Hyperia City prereleases on October 16, 2026 at game stores and select Disney Parks and stores. The full wide release hits everywhere on October 23, 2026. Preorders are open now at online retailers, so if you want to get your hands on it early, now is the time to place that order!
