Star Wars fans, the wait is almost over. Ahsoka Season 2 officially premieres January 20, 2027 on Disney+, and the announcement made at D23 came loaded with details that should have every Rebels fan counting down the days.
Rosario Dawson returns as Ahsoka Tano at the center of it all, and the season finds her wrestling with one of the most personal questions she has ever faced: what does it truly mean to be a Jedi? That internal struggle plays out against the backdrop of a very real external threat, as Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Imperial remnant are back and more dangerous than ever. Dawson described the season with genuine excitement, saying “This season is massive. The stakes are higher, the battles are bigger, and the threat of Thrawn looms large.”
The returning cast is stacked. Hayden Christensen is back as Anakin Skywalker, once again serving as Ahsoka’s guide and challenger from beyond. Christensen shared that “Anakin continues to advise Ahsoka, challenges her, and pushes her to answer the most important question.” Lars Mikkelsen reprises his role as the chilling Grand Admiral Thrawn, Natasha Liu Bordizzo is back as Sabine Wren, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead returns as Hera Syndulla. Eman Esfandi is back as Ezra Bridger, and he was clearly thrilled about it: “Ezra is back! Ezra is home! He has reunited with his Rebels family.” Ariana Greenblatt also joins the cast this season as a young Ahsoka, adding another layer to the story.
