U2 is heading back to the NFL stage. Netflix announced that the legendary Irish rock band will headline the halftime show at the first ever NFL Thanksgiving Eve Game, as the Green Bay Packers take on the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, November 25, 2026 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The performance will celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary.

A Historic Night for U2 and the NFL
This is the first time the NFL has ever played a game on the night before Thanksgiving, and Netflix is going big for it. U2, winners of 22 Grammy Awards and members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will mark five decades together with what Netflix calls a “historic halftime performance.”
“There’s a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades,” said Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos. “We’re thrilled that they’ll bring that same magic to the NFL stage on Netflix. It’s going to be an unforgettable night for football fans and Netflix members worldwide.”
Netflix has not revealed the setlist or any special guests yet.
U2’s Unforgettable Super Bowl Performance
This won’t be U2’s first time performing at halftime of an NFL game. The band headlined the Super Bowl XXXVI halftime show in New Orleans on February 3, 2002, just months after 9/11. During that emotional performance, the names of the victims were projected behind the band, and Bono opened his jacket to reveal an American flag sewn into the lining. It is still considered one of the greatest halftime shows ever.
Fun fact: the Rams played in that Super Bowl too. The New England Patriots beat the then St. Louis Rams 20 to 17 on a last second Adam Vinatieri field goal.
Netflix’s Growing NFL Halftime Tradition
Netflix has quickly turned its NFL games into major entertainment events:
- 2024: Beyoncé headlined the halftime show of Ravens vs. Texans on Christmas Day, better known as the “Beyoncé Bowl.”
- 2025: Snoop Dogg hosted “Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party” at Lions vs. Vikings, with Lainey Wilson, Andrea Bocelli, Matteo Bocelli and HUNTR/X.
Netflix will also stream two games on Christmas Day 2026: the Packers at the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, and the Buffalo Bills vs. the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High.
SoFi Stadium’s Big Season
SoFi Stadium is having quite a year. Just a few months after U2 takes the stage, it will host Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, which will air on ESPN and ABC and stream on Disney+ for the first time. Families can also catch Star Wars Funday Football, an animated alternate telecast set in the Star Wars galaxy.
