Gideon’s Bakehouse is kicking off its next decade in a big way. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the beloved Orlando bakery revealed its very first Artist Edition Trading Card Series, featuring the creatures of Gideon’s reimagined by some of the most talented illustrators in comics, books and film. The collection will include up to 70 brand new cards to discover.
“How would the creatures of Gideon’s appear through the eyes of the world’s most gifted illustrators?” Gideon’s asked. “Our very first Artist Edition Trading Card Series answers that question.”
Gideon’s shared just a glimpse of what’s ahead and says that some of these artists will be returning for even bigger projects. Here’s a look at the first six artists revealed.
Andrew Robinson
An award winning, New York Times bestselling illustrator, Andrew Robinson has painted covers for every major publisher, including titles like Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Star Wars and Black Panther.
Gris Grimly
Gris Grimly is an award winning illustrator known for his macabre yet humorous books for children and young adults. He also handled art direction for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, so his style is a perfect match for the spooky charm of Gideon’s.
Ryan Ottley
Ryan Ottley is the artist and contributing creator behind Invincible, now a hit animated series on Prime Video. He is currently the artist for Marvel’s Amazing Spider-Man and Hulk comics.
Chris Stevens
A cover artist for more than 10 years, Chris Stevens has worked on Marvel titles like Captain America, Thor, Uncanny X-Force, Hulk and What If?, as well as DC’s Batman Beyond, Aquaman and Detective Comics.
Dan Brereton
Eisner Award winning writer and painter Dan Brereton is best known for his book Nocturnals and his work with Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker, Rob Zombie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Simpsons, Heavy Metal, Marvel and DC.
Jill Thompson
An Eisner Award Hall of Fame legend, Jill Thompson is the creator of Scary Godmother and Magic Trixie, the artist behind Beasts of Burden, and the writer and artist of Wonder Woman: The True Amazon.
A New Decade of Stories
Gideon’s says the 10th anniversary has “sparked excitement for the next decade,” and that the bakery is “brimming with untold stories, ready to unfold.” This trading card series is just the start, with more artists and projects to come.

Gideon’s has not yet shared when or how the Artist Edition cards will be released, so we will update you as soon as we know more.
