Halloween Time runs from August 21 through October 31, while Plaza de la Familia continues through November 2. Disneyland Resort
Character appearances and locations are always subject to change, so guests should check the Disneyland app for updated appearance times during their visit.

Halloween Characters at Disney California Adventure
The Halloween celebration begins as soon as guests enter Disney California Adventure. Buena Vista Street has once again been transformed with seasonal decorations, atmospheric music and the imposing Headless Horseman statue near Elias & Co.
Mickey Mouse and several of his friends can be found around Buena Vista Street wearing their festive Halloween costumes:
- Mickey Mouse dressed as a magician
- Minnie Mouse wearing a flapper-inspired dress
- Donald Duck in a devil costume
- Daisy Duck dressed as a witch
- Goofy transformed into a scarecrow
These returning costumes have become a favorite part of Halloween Time and offer some wonderfully colorful photo opportunities near the park entrance.
Cars Land Becomes Radiator Screams
Cars Land transforms into Radiator Screams for the Halloween season, complete with glowing decorations, seasonal music and playful automotive puns throughout the land.
Guests can look for Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz Ramirez and Red the Fire Truck wearing their creative “car-stumes.” Their Halloween transformations make Cars Land one of the most unique places to spot seasonal characters at Disneyland Resort.
The area also features two returning attraction overlays: Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree.
Mickey’s Trick and Treat

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy host their own family-friendly costume party during “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.
Designed especially with younger guests in mind, the interactive show features original Halloween songs, colorful projections, bubbles, special effects and a playful story that keeps the scares light. The show is scheduled to run from August 18 through October 31, 2026. Disneyland Resort
Celebrate Plaza de la Familia

Paradise Gardens Park once again honors Día de los Muertos with Plaza de la Familia from August 21 through November 2.
The celebration includes décor, food and live entertainment inspired by Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.” Guests can enjoy “Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!,” which brings the film’s music and themes of family remembrance to life.
Mickey and Friends Debut New Halloween Costumes at Disneyland

Over at Disneyland Park, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends have received an entirely new set of Halloween costumes for 2026.
The new designs feature harlequin-inspired patterns, dramatic frilled collars and cuffs, and swirling candy-like details. Orange, yellow and black run throughout the collection, giving the characters a coordinated look that feels festive, theatrical and perfectly suited for Halloween.
Guests can look for the following characters around Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A.:
- Mickey Mouse
- Minnie Mouse
- Goofy
- Pluto
- Donald Duck
- Daisy Duck
- Clarabelle Cow
- Chip ‘n’ Dale
Because character appearances can vary throughout the day, checking the Disneyland app will be the best way to find current times and locations.
Meet Jack Skellington and Sally

Two of Halloween Time’s most popular residents have returned to New Orleans Square.
Jack Skellington and Sally from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” can be found in the Royal Courtyard. Their appearances regularly attract long waits, so guests hoping to meet the Pumpkin King and his rag-doll companion may want to visit earlier in the day.
Their return also pairs perfectly with a ride aboard Haunted Mansion Holiday, the seasonal attraction transformation inspired by the film.
Disney Villains Around Disneyland Park

Halloween is one of the best times of the year to encounter some of Disney’s most delightfully wicked characters.
During the 2026 celebration, guests may spot the following characters at various locations around Disneyland Park:
- Gaston
- Maleficent
- Cruella de Vil
- Lady Tremaine
- Anastasia
- Drizella
- The Queen
- Queen of Hearts
Appearances are not guaranteed, but these villains can create some of the most entertaining and unpredictable character interactions in the park.
A New Chewbacca Pumpkin Arrives
Characters can also be found in pumpkin form during the Halloween season.
Near the “Partners” statue in the center of Disneyland Park, guests will see a collection of pumpkins inspired by familiar characters. The display includes pumpkins featuring Buzz Lightyear and Roger Rabbit, along with a brand-new Chewbacca pumpkin making its debut in 2026.
The display provides a fun seasonal photo opportunity with Sleeping Beauty Castle nearby.
Halloween Character Dining at the Disneyland Resort Hotels

The character fun continues outside the theme parks with three seasonal dining experiences at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort.
Reservations are strongly recommended for these experiences and can be made through the Disneyland website or app.
