‘Hawkeye’ Star Jeremy Renner Discusses Future in Marvel Cinematic Universe

November 19, 2021 ,

Movie star Jeremy Renner has graced the silver screen as “Hawkeye” for quite some time, appearing in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Recently, the star discussed his future with the film franchise following the premiere of his Disney+ original series “Hawkeye.”

In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, Renner revealed he’s not sure what’s to come of the bow and arrow shooting character: “I don’t have a crystal ball, or I’m not a soothsayer. But having Hailee come in, and these characters, I think it opens it up for six great episodes for this event type of television. After that, I have no idea. But these six episodes are pretty exciting.”

Renner may not be able to foresee the future of his character in the MCU. However, it is worth noting that the development of this new series has been in the works for a while.

“All of these roles have been fairly small. And then Ultron, we got a little more. And then he just starts stealing all of these scenes. But it was always the intention to explore much more,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said during the Hawkeye press conference. “The character’s history is vast. And also, the Matt Fraction comics, which I am sure people have been spending a lot of time talking about, was a big tonal inspiration for us. And seeing that and this new dynamic.”

The series is set to premiere on the streaming service beginning November 24, 2021 with its first two episodes. Similar to many other Marvel Studios original series on Disney+, “Hawkeye” will consist of six episodes with various runtimes and is set to finish its run on the streaming service on December 22, 2021.
