Marvel Studios knows how to make even a movie theater reminder feel like an event — and they absolutely delivered with this one.
Ahead of Avengers: Doomsday hitting theaters on December 18, Marvel has released a brand new “silence your phones” PSA, and it is absolutely stacked with familiar faces. We are talking a who’s who of the MCU showing up in full costume to remind you to put your phone away before the movie starts — and it is as fun as it sounds.
The Cast Is Unreal
This is not your average movie theater announcement. The video features an enormous ensemble of Marvel heroes and villains, spanning the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, Anthony Mackie suits up as Captain America, and Sebastian Stan appears as Bucky Barnes. Florence Pugh shows up as Yelena Belova, Letitia Wright is Shuri, Simu Liu brings Shang-Chi, and Channing Tatum finally gets his moment as Gambit — yes, really.
The X-Men side of things features Rebecca Romijn as Mystique and James Marsden as Cyclops, while Pedro Pascal represents the Fantastic Four as Mister Fantastic. Rounding out the roster are Winston Duke as M’Baku, Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Danny Ramirez as Falcon. That is an absolutely wild lineup for what is technically a public service announcement.
The Best Part
At the end, all I could see was Anthony Mackie just laughing, and honestly, same. The video manages to be charming and genuinely funny rather than preachy, which is a lot harder to pull off than it looks.
The PSA is currently playing before Avengers: Endgame Encore screenings in theaters now, so if you have already been back for the re-release, you may have caught it on the big screen. If not, watch it above it is worth every second.
