Walt Disney World will once again welcome some of America’s most inspiring athletes as the Warrior Games return to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in August 2027. What Are the Warrior Games?
Founded in 2010, the Warrior Games is an annual adaptive sports competition designed to provide wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans the opportunity to compete at the highest level while demonstrating the power of resilience and recovery.
The event is about much more than medals and championships. It highlights the healing power of adaptive sports while honoring the dedication and sacrifices made by members of the military community.
Each year, the Games bring together athletes from every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie, encouragement, and inspiration.
Nearly 200 Athletes Will Compete
The 2027 Warrior Games will feature nearly 200 competitors representing five military teams:
- U.S. Army
- U.S. Marine Corps
- U.S. Navy/Coast Guard
- U.S. Air Force/Space Force
- U.S. Special Operations Command
Throughout the competition, athletes will participate in 12 adaptive sports, including:
- Archery
- Cycling
- Field Events
- Indoor Rowing
- Pickleball

- Precision Air
- Sitting Volleyball
- Swimming
- Track
- Wheelchair Basketball
- Wheelchair Rugby
These competitions showcase incredible athletic ability while highlighting the determination and perseverance of every participant.
A Special Announcement at ESPN Wide World of Sports
To celebrate the Warrior Games’ return to Walt Disney World, Disney hosted a special press event at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Representatives from Disney, Warrior Games organizers, sponsors, community leaders, and former competitors gathered to share updates about the 2027 event. Guests also enjoyed a pickleball demonstration, offering a preview of one of the many adaptive sports featured during the Games.
