Walt Disney World is Upgrading the Way You Plan Your Vacation and Its Powered by Ai

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation just got a whole lot smarter. This is pretty interesting! Disney has announced new technology designed to make the vacation planning process simpler and help guests book with greater confidence, and it is being developed in collaboration with Google Cloud.

The new vacation planning experience brings several helpful upgrades to the table. Guests can look forward to flexible search with more personalized results, a new pricing and availability calendar, and the ability to compare options side by side to find the best available rate. I love this idea, it’s going to make things so much easier!

The experience also includes AI powered summaries that pull information from official Disney sources, making it easier to ask questions and get answers based on your specific vacation plans, schedule, and budget. Disney noted that AI was applied thoughtfully throughout, used in a measured approach in the places where it can genuinely help guests, not just for the sake of using it.

A couple of things worth noting for those wondering about the full scope of this new tool: at this time, it will not include Lightning Lane or dining reservations, so those will still be handled through existing booking methods. Maybe that will change at some point, we shall see!

Who Can Access It?

For now, the beta experience will be available to a limited number of randomly selected guests in the United States and Canada. Disney says guest feedback will help shape future updates as they expand availability in phases and continue refining the experience over time.

And don’t worry if you are not selected for the beta or simply prefer the way things work now, you can continue to use the existing search and booking tools on DisneyWorld.com. Travel advisors and cast members at Disney’s Call Center will also remain available to help you plan. Nothing to be concerned about!

Part of a Bigger Push to Simplify

Disneyworld Website

This new planning tool is just one piece of a larger effort Disney has been making to simplify the guest experience. Other recent updates include a newly redesigned DisneyWorld.com homepage that reduced links by 40%, making it much easier to navigate. Disney has also introduced Spanish translations on both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort apps, which have already seen hundreds of thousands of unique users.

On top of that, Disney is currently testing new search summaries on its website and app pulling from official sources to save time wading through FAQs. That feature is in testing with cast members now and is expected to roll out to guests in the coming months.

It is clear Disney is putting real effort into making the planning side of a Disney vacation feel less overwhelming and honestly, that is something a lot of fans have been hoping for. We will keep you posted as this new experience continues to roll out!
