D23 has announced a very special evening for Disney fans heading to the Orlando area this fall. The D23 Spotlight Series: 55 Magical Years of Storytelling is set for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. inside the Ballroom of the Americas at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and it is shaping up to be a night that any Disney history lover will not want to miss.
The event celebrates both the 125th anniversary of Walt Disney’s birth and the 55th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, and the lineup is absolutely stacked. Disney Legend Joe Rohde will share storytelling insights drawn from his remarkable 40-year career at Walt Disney Imagineering, giving fans a rare and personal look at the creative mind behind some of Disney’s most beloved themed experiences. The Walt Disney Archives will also take center stage with a special presentation dedicated to the iconic Carousel of Progress, featuring newly acquired treasures and insights from the Imagineers currently working on upcoming additions to the attraction. That alone makes this event a must for any fan of classic Disney theme park history.
Tickets go on sale Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET and are available to D23 Gold and General Members, who can purchase up to four tickets total. There are two ticket options to choose from. The Panel-Only ticket is $59 (plus a $3 fee) and includes admission to the full panel discussion plus a limited-release Walt Disney World Resort pin. The VIP ticket is $159 (plus a $3 fee) and adds a dessert reception, two character meet-and-greets, a coupon package, and a fireworks viewing experience. All attendees will need a valid D23 membership card and government-issued ID, and children attending must be 13 or older and accompanied by a ticketed guardian.
