Last Chance! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Closes After This Weekend for Its First Refurbishment

October 31, 2026

If Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is on your Magic Kingdom list, this is your last chance for a while! This weekend, Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, are the final days to ride before the attraction closes on Monday, November 2 for its very first refurbishment since opening in June 2024.

When Will Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Reopen?

Walt Disney World’s refurbishment calendar shows Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closed from November 2 through December 17, with a reopening date of Friday, December 18, 2026. Operating hours are already posted for that day, which is a good sign the date will stick. Disney’s official attraction page still lists a more general December 2026 reopening, so keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app if you’re visiting right around that date.

That timing means the ride should be back in action just in time for the busy Christmas week crowds.

What Else Is Closing

Tiana’s Bayou General, the gift shop at the ride’s exit, will close along with the attraction. If you’ve been eyeing any Tiana merchandise from that shop, this weekend is the time to grab it.

The refurbishment only affects Magic Kingdom. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park in California is not part of this closure.

Why Is It Closing?

Disney describes this as a routine refurbishment and hasn’t shared details about the specific work being done. Water rides like this typically go down for maintenance about once a year, but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has gone more than two years without an extended closure since it replaced Splash Mountain on June 28, 2024. The ride has also dealt with its share of unexpected downtime, so this break should give Disney’s maintenance teams time to get everything, including the impressive Audio Animatronics figures, in top shape for the holidays.

Final Weekend Hours and Tips

the Final Drop on Tianas Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom

If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom this weekend, plan ahead:

  • Saturday, October 31 (Halloween): Magic Kingdom is open for regular daytime guests from 8am to 6pm before the park switches over to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so the window to ride is shorter than usual.
  • Sunday, November 1: The final day before the refurbishment, with the attraction operating from 9am to 10pm.

Expect bigger crowds than normal as guests try to squeeze in one last ride. Heading to Frontierland first thing in the morning is your best bet for a shorter standby wait, and Lightning Lane Multi Pass guests should book it as early as possible. We’d also suggest not waiting until the last hour on Sunday. Water rides can have weather or technical pauses, and you don’t want to miss out right at the end.

While the ride is down, expect heavier crowds at nearby favorites like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pirates of the Caribbean.

More Tiana News

It’s a big week for Tiana fans! Disney just confirmed that The Princess and the Frog is getting a Disney+ special with the original cast and new songs. And when the ride reopens, don’t forget to keep an eye out for Lari as you float through the bayou.
