McDonald’s Just Confirmed It: Disney Villains Boo Buckets Drop October 20

October 15, 2026

Mcdonalds Just Confirmed It Disney Villains Boo Buckets Drop October 20It’s official, and I am SO here for it. McDonald’s just confirmed what the rumor mill has been buzzing about: this year’s Boo Buckets are going full Disney Villains. I reported on the rumor earlier this week, but now we know!

Villains Happy Meal

The confirmation came straight from McDonald’s official Happy Meal Instagram account, which posted a teaser video of five pairs of glowing villain eyes peering out of the darkness in purple, orange, white, green and red. The closing frame shows the Disney Villains and Happy Meal Boo Buckets logos side by side with the words “Out 10.20.” So mark it down: Tuesday, October 20 at participating McDonald’s, for a limited time while supplies last.

Here is the lineup, and the leak trail holds up beautifully: Ursula in purple, Maleficent in green, Scar in orange, Jafar in red and Cruella De Vil in white. Each bucket comes with sticker sheets featuring Disney characters and McDonald’s themed designs, so you can decorate your own.
This is the fun part of how the story broke. Snackolator, the fast food leak account that called the whole thing first, pointed to October 20 and the villain lineup days ago. Then a McDonald’s franchisee basically said the quiet part out loud, posting that his “handcuffs are off” now that other operators had shared the info, and that “Corp did a great job using our Disney partnership for this collab.” Manager shared photos made the rounds in collector groups, and now the official teaser seals it.
And yes, this is historic for the buckets. McDonald’s first introduced Boo Buckets back in 1986, put them on a six year hiatus starting in 2016, brought them roaring back in 2022, and this is the first time they have ever teamed up with an outside IP for the pails. A Disney Villains collab is the biggest glow up these buckets have ever gotten.

The Genie Transportation Services

The Disney fan cherry on top: all five of these villains are expected to be part of Villains Land, the new land currently under construction at Magic Kingdom. A villain bucket this October, a whole villain land on the way. Exciting stuff!

Word of warning for collectors: listings for the buckets are already popping up online with asking prices over $100, and Boo Buckets tend to sell out fast. If you want one, show up on day one. Availability can vary by location, so it may be worth calling ahead.

For those who somehow missed the phenomenon: you get your Happy Meal served in a collectible plastic pail that doubles as a trick or treat bucket. Simple, nostalgic, fantastic!  I’ll keep tracking this one. In the meantime, which villain bucket are you hunting for?
