Dashing through the woods? At Walt Disney World, you can. Holiday sleigh rides are returning to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground this December, offering one of the coziest and most nostalgic ways to celebrate the season at Disney.
Pulled by horses from the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, the sleighs take guests on a festive ride along the wooded trails of Fort Wilderness. Central Florida may not have snow, but with the jingle of harness bells and the holiday spirit, it’s about as close to a classic winter sleigh ride as you’ll find in Orlando.
When Are the Holiday Sleigh Rides?
Holiday sleigh rides run December 1 through December 30, 2026. They are not available on Christmas Eve, December 24.
Disney hasn’t published specific ride times, so check the availability calendar when booking to see what’s open on your date.
How Much Do the Sleigh Rides Cost?
Each sleigh ride is $80 per sleigh, not per person, which makes it a fairly affordable holiday experience for a small group. Disney’s website is unclear on whether tax is included, so check the final price when you book.
Each sleigh holds:
- Up to 4 adults, or
- 2 adults and 3 children
The ride lasts about 25 minutes and is open to guests of all ages.
Where Do the Rides Begin?
Rides depart from the new Tri-Circle-D Ranch barn, near the Settlement Bus Depot at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Plan to check in 15 minutes before your reservation time.
Getting there: Fort Wilderness is a large property, so give yourself plenty of time. Disney recommends allowing 60 to 90 minutes for transportation if you’re coming from elsewhere at Walt Disney World. If you’re driving, park at the main entrance of Fort Wilderness and take the complimentary bus to the Settlement Depot.
How to Book
Reservations can be made through the Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app, up to 60 days in advance. That means December dates are already open for booking.
Availability is limited, so booking ahead is highly recommended. Same day reservations and walk ups are sometimes available, but don’t count on it during the busy holiday season.
Cancellation policy: You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations within 24 hours and no shows are charged the full price.
Know Before You Go
- Rain or cold doesn’t cancel the ride. Rides only stop for severe weather, so bring a jacket or poncho if the forecast looks iffy. Umbrellas and ponchos are not provided.
- Wheelchair users must be able to step up into the sleigh.
- Arrive early. Between the bus ride and the walk to the barn, getting to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch takes longer than most guests expect.
