Disney Brings in Xbox Executive Jennifer Creegan to Lead Marketing Technology and Operations

The Walt Disney Company is making a big move to bring its marketing into the future, and they’ve tapped a heavy hitter from the gaming world to lead the charge.

Disney Brings in Xbox Executive Jennifer Creegan to Lead Marketing Technology and Operations

Jennifer Creegan, a longtime Microsoft and Xbox executive, has been hired by Disney for a newly created role as Head of Marketing Technology and Operations. She officially steps into the position on September 7, 2026.

A New Role Built for the Moment

This isn’t a reshuffled title — it’s a brand-new position, which tells you something about where Disney is headed. Creegan will report directly to Asad Ayaz, Disney’s Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, as part of his expanding enterprise marketing leadership team.

Her job is a big one. She’ll be working across virtually every corner of the Disney universe; parks and experiences, film and TV, streaming, sports, gaming, and consumer products, collaborating with technology and data teams to sharpen fan insights, speed up decision-making, and uncover growth opportunities on a global scale.

In other words, Disney wants to get smarter about how it connects with fans, and Creegan is the person they’re trusting to make that happen.

From Xbox to the Magic Kingdom

Creegan brings over two decades of experience from Microsoft’s advertising division, where she eventually rose to become Head of Xbox Strategy, Business Planning and Insights. In that role, she shaped business strategy across product, content, and monetization — all while keeping the focus squarely on the player experience.

That player-first mindset translates pretty naturally to the Disney world, where the guest and fan experience is everything.

Ayaz had high praise for the hire, noting that “technology and data can come together with innovative marketing approaches” to help Disney reach fans in fresh and meaningful ways. He pointed to Creegan’s track record of bringing strategy together as a key reason she’s the right fit for Disney’s next chapter.

What This Means for Disney Fans

On the surface, a marketing technology hire might not sound like the most exciting Disney news — but think about what it could mean in practice. Better personalization across Disney+, smarter connections between your park visits and your streaming habits, more cohesive storytelling across every platform you interact with as a fan — that’s the kind of thing a role like this is designed to unlock.

Disney has one of the most passionate fanbases in the world, and with Creegan’s background in data-driven strategy and her experience building connected experiences for Xbox players, the potential here is genuinely exciting.

We’ll be watching to see what this means for the fan experience across all things Disney in the months and years ahead. Stay tuned to The Main Street Mouse for the latest!
