Dwayne Johnson is officially a Disney Legend, and his daughters wasted no time getting to the most important question: what does that actually mean for them?
Johnson received his Disney Legend award on August 16 at a ceremony in Anaheim, California, presented by none other than his Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt, who called him a “non-conforming, rule-breaking, mould-breaking rebel.” He was honored alongside a stellar class that included Anne Hathaway, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Jonas Brothers, Susan Egan, and Alan Tudyk.
When Johnson’s youngest daughters, Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, 8, sent him a congratulatory video asking what becoming a Disney Legend meant, he had an answer ready. “It means we get free tickets to Disney for life,” he told them. The girls were watching from home when their dad received the honor, and their reaction was exactly what you would expect: “Congratulations, Daddy, you’re a Disney Legend. What does it mean?” Johnson clearly had his priorities straight with his response.
The moment was full of real heart too. During his acceptance speech, Johnson shared a memory of taking his eldest daughter, Simone, who turned 25 that same day, to Disneyland when she was just 5 years old, recalling the moment she made a wish with a princess character that clearly stuck with him. He also gave Simone a birthday shout-out from the stage, which is about as sweet as it gets. Johnson’s connection to Disney runs deep beyond the jokes: Jasmine and Tiana have both made cameos in the Moana franchise, including the 2026 live-action film where Johnson stars as Maui.
For a man who has voiced one of Disney’s most beloved characters and now holds one of the company’s highest honors, it sounds like the Johnson house might be getting some very good use out of those park tickets.
