This is the way to a major day of streaming for Star Wars fans.

Din Djarin and Grogu will take over Disney+ on September 2, 2026, with three new releases celebrating their adventures across the galaxy. The day’s lineup includes the Disney+ streaming premiere of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, a two-part behind-the-scenes podcast, and an all-new LEGO animated special retelling the story of The Mandalorian.
Whether you are looking for a cinematic adventure, behind-the-scenes stories, or a family-friendly journey through all three seasons of the hit series, September 2 will offer something for every kind of Mandalorian fan.
The Mandalorian and Grogu Comes to Disney+
After opening in theaters worldwide this past May, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on September 2.
The film follows the fall of the Empire as Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. While the fledgling New Republic works to defend everything the Rebellion fought to achieve, it enlists the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice, Grogu.
Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, with Sigourney Weaver joining the cast. Jeremy Allen White and Martin Scorsese also lend their voices to characters in the movie.
The standalone adventure sends the Mandalorian and Grogu into unexplored areas of the galaxy, where they encounter new creatures, characters, and challenges. Fans can expect dogfights, TIE fighter battles, large-scale action, spectacular environments, and the heartfelt relationship between Din and Grogu that has defined their story since the beginning.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film was written by Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Noah Kloor.
An IMAX Enhanced Experience at Home
The Mandalorian and Grogu will also become the latest movie available in IMAX Enhanced on Disney+.
The presentation uses IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio to display more of the image during select sequences, creating a more immersive viewing experience at home. The expanded picture format will be available to all Disney+ subscribers.
Viewers with certified televisions and AV receivers can also experience IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS, including the full dynamic range of the film’s original theatrical mix.
The official Disney+ trailer can be viewed on YouTube.
Go Behind the Scenes With the Official Podcast

Lucasfilm is also launching the Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu Official Podcast on September 2.
The two-episode series will take fans behind the scenes of the feature film, offering stories and insights from the people responsible for bringing the latest chapter of Din Djarin and Grogu’s journey to life.
The episodes are scheduled to arrive on Disney+ at 6 p.m. PT:
- Episode 1: “Growing Up”
- Episode 2: “Bigger & Different”
Filmed on the movie’s Adelphi Base Bar set, the podcast features director, co-writer, and producer Jon Favreau alongside Lucasfilm President and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni. Guests also include Academy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson and stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver.
Grogu will even make an appearance as the filmmakers and cast discuss how the movie became both a new chapter in the wider Star Wars universe and an important step forward for its central characters.
Video versions of the podcast will be available on Disney+ and YouTube. Audio-only editions will be released through Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, Amazon Music, SiriusXM, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn.
Fans can watch the official podcast trailer on YouTube.
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian Retells All Three Seasons
Rounding out the day’s new releases is LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, an animated special debuting exclusively on Disney+.
The special presents a comedic retelling of all three seasons of the live-action series, revisiting familiar adventures in unexpected ways. Designed to appeal to families, younger viewers, and established fans, the special draws inspiration from both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Chris Buckley directs the special from a script written by Michael Price. Shelby Young unveiled its official trailer from the Star Wars stage at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The extensive voice cast includes Gavin Hammon as the Mandalorian and David Acord as Grogu and MA-13. Several actors also return to voice their familiar characters, including:
- Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto
- Bill Burr as Migs Mayfeld
- Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze
- Emily Swallow as the Armorer
- Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon
- Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand
- Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano
- Taika Waititi as IG-11 and IG-12

The cast also features Eric Bauza as Luke Skywalker, Nick Nolte as Kuiil, Carl Lumbly as Greef Karga, Steve Blum as Zeb Orrelios and several Stormtroopers, and additional performers voicing characters from across the first three seasons.
One Big Day for Mandalorian Fans
Since its debut alongside Disney+ in 2019, The Mandalorian has grown from a live-action streaming series into one of the most recognizable stories in the modern Star Wars era. Its success has continued through three seasons, appearances in The Book of Boba Fett, and Din Djarin and Grogu’s first theatrical adventure.
On September 2, fans can experience three different sides of that story. The feature film delivers a large-scale cinematic mission, the official podcast reveals how that adventure was made, and the LEGO special revisits the duo’s entire journey with a playful new twist.
For Mandalorian fans, September 2 is shaping up to be one of the biggest Disney+ streaming days in the galaxy.
