Follow along for live updates from Day 1 of D23 2026! We’ll be at the Anaheim Convention Center throughout the day, then heading to the Honda Center this evening for the Disney Entertainment Showcase. Check back often, we’ll be posting updates right here as news breaks.
Full breakdown of what was announced at the Honda Center for the Disney Entertainment Showcase on 8/14/2026. I will be adding photos and more information later.
Show opened with the hosts for the evening Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan and they introduced the Walt Disney Company CEO Josh D’Amaro for his opening remarks.
Josh welcomed Disney Legend Anne Hathaway to the stage and during her speech, Anne announced they are working on The Princess Diaries 3.
Dana Walden, President and Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Company, came out and introduced Bart Simpson and announced that a all new “The Simpsons Movie” is coming out in September 2027 and we got to see a very rough draft of some of the animation of the film.
Pete Doctor, Chief Creative Officer of Pixar, took the stage and talked about Pixar celebrating 40 years this year. He then announced that Coco 2 would be coming out in 2029. Benjamin Bratt who voiced Ernesto de la Cruz came out to speak about the film and that he would be reprising his role. During Benjamin’s speech it was announced that Coco would be joining Kingdom Hearts IV. Also, there will be a Kingdom Hearts Series coming to Disney+ and Disney Channel.
The next announcement was for Incredibles 3 would come out in the Summer of 2028 and this time would focus on the Parr kids and the crime fighting skills.
Ghost Market is the next film coming in Spring of 2028 and will be the first time Pixar has had a film that involved the super natural. The Pixar segment of the evening concluded with Gatto and a new trailer. Gatto will be arrive in theaters March 2027.
Our hosts for the evening returned to introduce Maia Kealoha and Stitch. Maia played Lilo in the live action version and Stitch then appeared on screen causing his normal mischief and announced Lilo and Stitch 2 would be coming out and Angel would be part of this film.
Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino took to the stage to announce Romy and Michele 2
Walker Scobell appeared on the 2nd stage in the middle of the floor area and a large Triton’s Trident came down from the ceiling. Walker announced that Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 would be coming soon and he was then joined on stage was Ming-Na Wen and Andra Day. We then saw the trailer for the upcoming season.
Our next section brought out 3 new Disney Legends, Nick, Joe, and Kevin, the Jonas Brothers. They brothers came out to talk about Camp Rock 3 and then more of the stars from the film performed one of the songs on age.
The Bluey Movie was next and we got to see a trailer for the upcoming film that will be in theaters August 2027.
After 4 1/2 years, Ice Age is returning to the big screen. Queen Latifah and Dennie Leary came on stae. They talked a bit about the synopsis of the film, Ice Age Boiling Point and we got to see a trailer for the film.
At D23 in 2024, we were treated to some of the music for the musical The Greatest Showman. We then got to see a couple different numbers performed by the cast of the musical and it was announced it will make it’s debut London Spring 2027 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Floating lanterns came down over the crowd and then on stage we saaw 100’s of lanterns raising on the screen and that could only mean one thing, Tangled!
Kathryn Hahn, who will be playing Mother Gothel came out to talk to the crowd about the filming and she thanked all the fans for pushing for her to receive the honor to play Mother. She then shared a video from the set of the film with Teagan Croft (Rapunzel) and Milo Manheim (Flynn Rider) shared information from the set, showed different scenes they have show. The live action Tangled will be in Theaters March 31, 2028.
Kathryn Hahn then announced that she is involved in another project and welcomed her friend, Jon Favreau to the stage. Jon talked about his new project coming to Disney+. The project is Oswald and will be a 3 part mini series bringing Oswald to the real world. This series will begin streaming on Disney+ in February 2027.
Jon then talked about another project he has been working on for National Geographic, Lion. This series follows a wild lion named Kio in Kenya’s Maasai Mara.Cameras filmed Kio for four straight years, capturing his real-life journey from a tiny cub into adulthood. This marks the first time a wildlife team has followed a lion’s life this long. Lions will debut August 19, 2026 on National Geographic and streaming on Disney+ and Hulu August 20th.
It was finally time for Kevin Feige to speak about Marvel! The first thing Kevin spoke about was the upcoming series VisionQuest. He was then joined on stage by Paul Bettany and James Spader and we got to see the trailer for the show. VisionQuest will begin streaming on Disney+ October 14th, 2026
Marvel Games Wolverine will be coming to Playstation on September 15, 2026 and we got to see a trailer for the upcoming game.
Kevin then spoke about Avengers: Endgame Encore will be coming back in theaters September 25, 2026 to give us a new scene to tie directly into Avengers: Doomsday. Kevis said almost every character would be returning to the film and then a video started to play with Hugh Jackman and the voice of Ryan Reynolds saying if they needed them, they would love to be int he film. Doomsday will be in theaters on December 18, 2026. Kevin was then joined on stage from Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers aka Captain America), and the one and only Robert Downey Jr. We then were treated to a trailer for the film that will bring together so many different teams from the Marvel Universe to fight this new enemy.
Kevin then talked about Spider-Man: Brand New Day and brought out Sandie Sink, Jean Gray. Kevin then brought out director Jake Schreier and the cast of the upcoming X-Men movie. We were told just before coming on stage, this was the first time the entire case met one another. There was one member of the cast not at the Honda Center, but he sent a video. Adam Driver will be joining the X-Men film as Mr. Sinister (Nathaniel Milbury). The other cast members are:

- Samara Weaving as Emma Frost / White Queen
- Inde Navarrette as Rogue
- Maya Boyd as Ororo Munroe / Storm
Marvel Studios X-Men will be in theaters May 5, 2028.
The final studio of the night was Walt Disney Animation Studios. Zootopia 3 is officially in early development at Walt Disney Animation Studios! Ginnifer Goodwin, Ke Huy Quan, and Jared Bush shared the news at D23 and treated fans to an exclusive sequence. A release date has not yet been announced.
Disney is working on a new original form called Clay and we got to see a trailer for the upcoming film. Clay will be in theaters November 2028. Kieran Culkin stars as Flip, who must look after a newborn ball of clay named Mushy inside an enchanted forest where nothing is as it seems.
Walt Disney Animation Studios shared a magical new look at Hexed during Friday night’s Disney Entertainment Showcase at the Honda Center. Hailee Steinfeld, who voices the film’s teenage heroine Billie Doe, appeared onstage as Disney announced that Jodie Foster will voice the villainous Queen Celeste and Walton Goggins will play a feline character named Beef Roger Crummchuck. Attendees also received an exclusive sneak peek at the original animated adventure, which follows Billie and her mother as they discover that the qualities making Billie different may actually be magical. Hexed arrives in theaters on November 25, 2026. The biggest surprise was that Jodi Foster would be joing the cast.
Last but not least, we were treated to information, trailer and some music from Frozen III which will be in theaters November 24, 2027. Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa) came out to sing a song from the film, followed by a love ballad by Josh Gad (Olaf) to his new love Samantha.
