From yesterday!
From the Disney Parks Blog and written by: Erin Glover
It was January 24, 1993, when Mickey Mouse and his pals first welcomed Disneyland park guests to Mickey’s Toontown. A special place that had been their home for decades, Toontown was an escape from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. The toons kept this home a secret until the day they opened the gates to invite guests inside with a special ceremony that declared everyone “honorary toons” – including some familiar faces…
…including Steven Spielberg and George Lucas…
…Dan Aykroyd and Robin Williams…
…and Sally Field!
See more photos from the opening of Mickey’s Toontown in George’s post marking the 20th anniversary of Mickey’s Toontown in 2013 here on the Disney Parks Blog.
