It’s Wednesday Main Streeters, and time for our weekly check in! It’s Spring Break for our school district here, so we’ve been trying to keep busy! Let’s catch up!
The kids had their last day of school on Thursday, so we had Friday free. We got work done for the site and such, then went over to Hollywood Studios for a little while to walk around. I figured we’d go to Disney of course, since it’s close to home and I wanted them to have a little fun. The park was busy, we didn’t get to ride much, but we did go and visit Chewy and Kylo Ren, so it wasn’t bad! It never seems to fail…. when the kids are home or something comes up, it’s always when we’re a little tight on money, so it’s more like Spring “Broke” truthfully! Thank God we have park passes! Speaking of parks….
Saturday, the weather was beautiful, and we were invited by some friends to go spend the day at Sea World. Another cheap day out, so we were on board with that! My kids really love Sea World. They enjoy the coasters, love the shows, and have fun seeing the animals. They watched the sea lions for quite a while, then everyone was at the sting ray tank looking for teeth in the water! Sure, it’s not a typical Saturday for a lot of people, but we had a good time. Sometimes it’s good to get out in the fresh air, walk around with friends, and just get away from the crowds. Disney is SO crowded this week, it’s crazy! Sea World is a welcomed break. We may go back before the week is out, we shall see!
So last weeks blog had my first video blog, or “vlog” attached. We’ve had readers asking me to do that for a LONG time, and yes I’ve been dragging my feet. It’s scary doing new things, especially when you’re not 100% sure of what you’re doing or if people will like it. I just went outside by myself, with my dog of course, turned on the camera and started talking. No frills, no fuss, just me. What you see is what you get with me, and that’s all I can do. To my surprise and relief, I got AWESOME feedback from that, and I’m so thankful. Now people asked me to do more, and I will, I promise. But seriously, thank you, all of you who reached out, commented, etc….. that means so much. I know it’s important to push yourself out of comfort zones, and I’m trying. Thank you again! (I’ll post it again at the bottom in case you missed it!).
Also new, we launched a Patreon page last week. A member saw other small businesses doing it for extra support, and suggested us trying it as well. I’m not sure how it’s going truthfully. I thought it would do better, being that a dollar is all that’s required, but it is what it is. It’s hard running a small business, and expensive, but we do our best. I’m hoping the Patreon page takes off eventually so we can do even more for TMSM, that would be a huge blessing! You can check it out here if you haven’t yet https://www.patreon.com/TMSM. Be sure to share it with your Disney friends, every little bit helps! Patrons get extra rewards too, which will start going out in April!
Well, that’s it for this week. I’m going to try to enjoy the last half of Spring Break with my boys, and try not to worry so much about the site and things. Worrying doesn’t change anything, I need to remember that. I’ll have more to tell you about next week I’m sure, and I’ll try to do another vlog by then too! If you have any suggestions on that one, I’m all ears! Until next week, sending you lots of love, blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M
