Disney Kingdoms and Marvel have released Enchanted Tiki Room #1 today and I was fortunate enough to get an early copy in order to review and share with all of our readers.

The Enchanted Tiki Room is one of the most nostalgic attractions in Disney, so it was only time till Marvel turned it into a comic.  Previous comics have included Figment, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and most recently The Haunted Mansion.

Without giving any spoilers, I will say that I did enjoy the comic. The comic did remind me of a certain television show on ABC that ran from 1977 till 1984, Fantasy Island.  The way the show started out if very similar to how the comic started.  In the comic, we are introduced to the small remote island in the Pacific and told that it is the home of the magical and mysterious Enchanted Tiki Room.

We are introduced to the guests who are coming to the island and given a bit about their story.  We get a brief look at each of them on the island and we learn a bit more about their story.  We also meet some of the different characters and birds that inhibit the island.  We also see a very familiar Orange Bird you may recognize.

Like any good comic, that is the first in a series, they of course set you up with the story and then stop it where you are curious to know what happens next.  As any Disney fan knows, Disney has a back story for each ride or attraction.  With Figment, BIg Thunder Mountain, the Haunted Mansion and now the Enchanted Tiki Room the story they have created for the comic, brings into things the parks use to tell those stories.

If you love the Enchanted Tiki Room, you will like this story and want to see where it goes.  Having read the first issue, my interest is there to continue when the next issue is released in November.  There will be a total of 5 issues in the series.  It’s now available today in Comic Book shops.  I’m also told it will arrive in both the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland this fall, but not sure if it will be the day it’s released.

Above is the cover of the issue, but there are also 4 variant covers, which you can see below.  Marvel has also given me a 5 page review to share with readers to give you a inside look at the issue.  You can download that HERE.

I hope you enjoy the Enchanted TIki Room comic as I did!!
