TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living ~ Boo To You!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! It’s time for our weekly check in on what’s happening down here in Central Florida. It’s been so busy around here lately, so much going on, so lets get right to it!

Among all the craziness, we decided last Thursday to force ourselves to take a break, so we went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We’ve been wanting to go all season long but just haven’t been able to, and we knew time was running out before Halloween. We got tickets while the kids were in school, and surprised them once they got home that we were going to MNSSHP. We got there around 5:00 or so, walked around a bit to check out merchandise and such, then looked at the map to plan out our evening. The one thing that everyone wanted to do was meet Jack and Sally, so we got in line for that early. The line was super long, we waited an hour and a half to see them, but it was worth it. It’s such a unique character meet and greet, and something you can only do during the parties, so we had to wait it out. My younger son was a little bit scared, but they made him feel much better, and got him to take a photo. You can see by the picture that he was a little intimidated!

After meeting Jack and Sally, we realized that the Boo to You Parade was just about to start, so we had to rush to the parade area. Last year we missed seeing the headless horseman because we got there too late, so we were determined to not miss him this year. The party was sold out and extremely crowded, so it wasn’t easy finding a good parade viewing spot. After finding a place to stop, we got some water and low and behold, here comes the headless horseman. Oh my gosh, he was everything I though he’d be. The clip-clopping of the horse walking, the spooky jack-o-lantern he’s holding, etc…. Awesome. We actually saw him twice, as we stayed for the second parade. The kids loved the Boo To You parade, and I did too. The Haunted Mansion Parts are my favorite!

Once the parade was over, we walked around to trick or treat and get the kids some candy. It’s probably the only trick or treating that they’ll get to do this year, so we wanted to make it fun for them. Then it was time for Hallowishes, which is amazing. Probably one of the best fireworks shows at Disney. The lines for the other characters were still too long, so we decided to just watch the parade a second time, then wait for the midnight showing of the Hocus Pocus show at the Castle. As die hard Hocus Pocus fans, we were pleasantly surprised. The actors playing the Sanderson Sisters were spot on, and the show was so worth staying late for. I’m so glad that we got to see the show.

We were pretty tired the following day after MNSSHP. Thank God the kids didn’t have school, as it was the end of the semester! So, we laid low all day to recover. There’s something about the parties that just exhaust you, not sure what it is, as opposed to regular park days. Last weekend was full though, we also hit Universal Studios on Saturday, then a few hours at Animal Kingdom on Sunday. Busy stuff! This week, fun time has been over, because we are getting ready to the next issue of our magazine to come out. The work we do is time consuming, but it’s a labor of love. That being said, I need to get back to work! Thank you all so much for keeping up with us each week, I so look forward to our chats! Until next week, sending you hugs, blessings and pixie dust! Have a safe and Happy Halloween! See ya real soon! ~M
