It’s that time of month again, time to review the May Loot Crate. As I mentioned last month, this month’s theme would be “Unite”. I didn’t know how to feel about that theme exactly till I read it would have something in it regarding Marvel’s Avengers, among other items. Just coming off the Avengers: Age of Ultron, anything Avengers to me is always a great item.
Well the first thing I noticed was the Power Ranger on the shirt. When it comes to the word “Unite” I can see why the Power Rangers were included. They have always come together, United as a team to fight the forces of evil. Now I will admit I was never a big Power Rangers fan, but I really like the design on this shirt and one that I will wear proudly.
Next thing I noticed was the cube box, which contains an EXCLUSIVE Rick and Morty 300-piece Jigsaw Puzzle from Cardinal Industries, Inc. The co-creator Justin Roiland of Rick and Morty is a big jigsaw puzzle fan and this puzzle features the characters from the show.
In case you aren’t familiar with the show, the series follows the misadventures of alcoholic scientist Rick and his easily influenced grandson Morty, who split their time between domestic family life and intergalactic space travel.
The next item, EXCLUSIVE Marvel Sneaker Laces from Esquire Footwear. Now you can sport your Super Hero pride with the Marvel characters on your shoes. Normally these types of laces are only available for kids shoes, but not this pair. Long enough for adult shoes, the only problem is how to get a them for each pair of shoes I own?
The next item, also from Marvel, was a Marvel Ice Cube Tray. Now you can have ice cubes that look like Captain America’s Shield or Iron Man’s Mask. These are so cool and a great addition to make a bunch of the next time I’m having a Marvel Cinematic Universe viewing party!!!
Now I figured that would be it when it comes to Marvel, but I was wrong. They also included the car decal of the Avengers from Age of Ultron. This is a really cool sticker and something I was very happy to get.
Up next, a pack of 4 pins from Team Fortress 2. This set is from one of Loot Crates favorite team-based shooter games. You can trade these with other players or just collect them for yourself. Also, they gave the link to play online the game at www.TeamFortress.com/freetoplay
Who doesn’t recognize the face of Alfred P. Newman from MAD magazine? This face has been every where for years now, and Loot Crate has given us an EXCLUSIVE issue of MAD. Some of the information inside includes the lampoon Justice League, Avengers and The Hobbit.
On the bottom of the box, there is a EXCLUSIVE Bravest Warriors Tales from the Holo John #1 from Boom Studios. This collection of bathroom bum-foolery is a side-splitting, irreverent ode to the commode. Must-have bathroom reading in any home, its five stories, pin-up poster and exclusive cover design are heorically epic!!
Of course with every Loot Crate, there is the monthly magazine and pin. In this months magazine they break down the greatest comic teams of all time. I can’t say I agree with their choices but I will just say, The Avengers are #1 but rather a team we didn’t get anything from in the crate..hmmmm. A story about BOOM! Studios and their history, the pictures of the MEGA Crate for May and of course user photos from past crates merchandise.
Overall this is one of my favorite crates to date, Loot Crate really outdid themselves with this one.
So what do we have to look for in June? The theme is being called Cyber. Here is the teaser information:
Loot Crate is featuring exclusive items from Terminator Genisys, Borderlands and more, including an exclusive t-shirt you won’t find anywhere else! So back up your hard drive, learn a little binary and get ready to download your disembodied consciousness into Loot Crate Systems!
