This morning, we had the absolute pleasure of being invited to check out the media preview of the all new Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum Orlando, which is part of the IDrive360 Complex. I have a full review coming, but for tonight, I wanted to show our Main Streeters some of the Disney actors (and the man himself) which were represented in the new exhibit. I was like a kid in a candy store. I seriously had the best time. Madame Tussaud’s Orlando is amazing, and I couldn’t wait to share some pics with you!
As you see, they had a display of Walt Disney. When I walked around the corner and saw Walt, it took my breath away. We were live streaming on Periscope and I said “this is the closest to Walt Disney that I’ll ever be” and my voice cracked. Now, it may sound silly, but this figure was so lifelike that it made me tear up. It was almost as if he could talk. My hero Walt, in the flesh, no….. uh wax. Close enough. Amazing!
My next favorite figure was Captain Jack Sparrow himself, Johnny Depp. The eyes in this figure were intense and realistic. One of the employees described it best, those eyes stare into your soul. Dramatic? Maybe. But man oh man, Johnny Depp looked real!
So let’s see who else we have… How about Maleficent, Angelina Jolie? She was there, looking lifelike next to husband Brad Pitt. In the same room, we had former Disney kid and star of one of my favorite movies, The Notebook… Ryan Gosling! Star struck, even if it was just wax!
The next stars on our Disney seeking tour are Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson, White Queen and Princess Diary star Anne Hathaway, and former Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus!
On your way out of the exhibit, you walk around the corner and see Tom Hanks standing in the middle of the gift shop! That was a nice surprise and a great way to end the tour. So yes, they have Walt Disney, and the man who PLAYED Walt Disney at the same place. Pretty darn cool!
Well there you have it, my favorite Disney stars at Madame Tussaud’s Orlando. I can’t thank the nice folks at the IDrive360 for inviting us out today. The museum is amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Orlando area. Watch for a full informational recap blog on Madame Tussaud’s Orlando soon! ~M
