From the Disney Insider
Rewatching classic Disney movies is a hobby for us. And we take it very seriously. Lately, after rewatching some of our favorites, we started to wonder what life after becoming a Disney voice actor is like. Naturally we did some research and here’s what we’ve found:
Bette Midler as Georgette in Oliver and Company
Bette became a part of the Disney family as sassy Georgette in Oliver and Company. From Georgette, Bette played one of our favorite leading ladies–Winifred Sanderson in Hocus Pocus. Bette is only capable of playing characters we love. Also she now has a show in Las Vegas. Perfection.
Tony Goldwyn as Tarzan in Tarzan
Tony went from playing the King of the Jungle to the king of Thursday night television as President Fitzgerald Grant on ABC’s hit show Scandal.
Holly Hunter as Helen Parr in The Incredibles
Holly has stayed a superstar since playing Elastigirl. You’ll be able to see her next inBatman vs. Superman performing alongside Ben Affleck.
Joey Lawrence as Oliver in Oliver and Company
Joey is a Disney kid at heart. Since his turn as Oliver in Oliver and Company, you can also find him in A Goofy Movie, Horse Sense, Jumping Ship, The Emperor’s New School, and ABC Family’s Melissa and Joey.
Emma Thompson as Captain Amelia in Treasure Planet
Most recently Emma portrayed P.L. Travers in Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks, and let’s just say her performance was practically perfect in every way.
Mindy Kaling as Taffyta Muttonfudge in Wreck-it Ralph
Ming-Na Wen as Mulan in Mulan
Ming-Na hasn’t lost her confidence since lending her voice to Mulan. She is now armed and dangerously awesome on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Bea Miller as Molly in Toy Story 3
This Bea has taken flight. From being the voice of kid sister Molly in Toy Story 3, Bea has become a finalist on the X Factor, and a Hollywood Records artist.
Kristen Anderson-Lopez as Kanga
Kristen not only voiced Kanga in Winnie the Pooh, she also wrote many of the delightful songs for the film. Since Winnie the Pooh, Kristen has gone from the Hundred Acre Wood to Arendelle. She has won an Oscar and Grammy for co-writing the songs from Frozen, including “Let it Go.”
Christian Bale as Thomas in Pocahontas
We’ve loved Christian since we first saw him in on the big screen as Jack Kelly in Newsies. After playing the King of New York he voiced John Smith’s right-hand-man, Thomas, inPocahontas. He’s now an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winning actor, and one of the biggest movie stars in the world.
