Happy Wednesday All! It’s time for our weekly Florida check in! I hope you’re all doing well! We’re good! I’ve got a Florida Winter cold, but I’m doing my best to fight it, I have a busy weekend coming up! Not only is this weekend Valentine’s Day, but Friday the 13th is my Birthday…. and I’m trying something new again. I’m having my first Disney birthday celebration! In all my years of going to Disney, I have NEVER spent my birthday at a Disney Park. Nope, never wore the birthday button, never had a Disney cupcake with a candle, never had a birthday hug from Mickey Mouse. This is one new thing I’m happy to try. However…. yes, you know how I am, sentimental and all… I really wish I was going to be with my family and friends back home. A hug from Mom and Dad is better than Mickey, once you’re away and don’t get to see them all the time. Our family is one of traditions, we do the same things each year for birthdays and holidays, so this year will be a first. Once I beat this cruddy cold, I’ll be ready to face it head on. So what else is new?? Let’s see…….

Oh yes, something new! I got to see the Cinderella Coach from the upcoming moving again, but this time I took a picture with it. I saw the carriage roll by at the Christmas Parade taping, a few times actually, but now you can stand next to it at Hollywood Studios and stand in line for a picture. I may or may not have been the only adult “Princess” waiting for her picture taken…. but that’s ok. Also, we went to see the extended trailer of the film that’s at the Studios. The trailer is about 10 minutes long, and the scene they showed was of the Fairy Godmother transforming Cinderella and her pumpkin carriage into a ball worthy production. Most know that Cinderella is one of my favorites, always has been. So, seeing the transformation come to life in such an amazing way made me cry. Gosh darn it, sometimes I hate being a Disney crier!! That stuff gets me every time. I was on the fence about this movie, but the trailer was really good, and it did touch my heart, I confess. Maybe it was in addition to seeing the carriage right before, but regardless, it’s all good.

The weather has been mild and we’ve been keeping busy going out and about taking pics for the site and gathering up information. I really do like “work trips” as I call them, but the kids don’t like it. They’d rather just have fun and bum around, but that’s not always possible. Saturday we went to Epcot for a NON work trip and they had a great time. We walked the park, had lunch at the Electric Umbrella, went on a few rides, etc. It was nice. We left a little early though, that’s when my winter cold started to settle in, and I’ve been home ever since. My boys were perplexed, they thought that we’re not supposed to get sick in the Winter time in Florida, being that there’s no snow. It’s kind of funny, because even though it’s technically Winter, it sure doesn’t feel like it. It feels more like a Michigan Fall instead. But alas, you can indeed get sick in Florida boys! Lesson learned, and sometimes taking it easy is just what we need.

Well, that’s it for this week’s Florida Living Update! Thank you all so much for following along with us each week, it’s very much appreciated! Until next time, wishing you lots of blessings, love and pixie dust….. see ya real soon! ~M
