Favorite Hidden Mickeys

Everywhere you go in Walt Disney World there seems to be some kind of “extra” activity you can do in addition to hitting the biggest E ticket attraction. It may be playing “Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom” in the Magic Kingdom, or helping out Agent P in his World Showcase Adventure over in EPCOT. If you’re over in Animal Kingdom there’s the “Wilderness Explorers” (personally my favorite, involves no electronics whatsoever). There’s always something for everyone. But there is one popular activity that will cost you absolutely nothing. You don’t even have to go into a theme park to participate in it. They can be found all over Disney property and of course I’m talking about Hidden Mickeys. It’s something we as a family are constantly looking for and over the years have come to have our favorites that of course we must look for on every trip. Some of them have become bygones (R.I.P. Maelstrom) and some are still there almost every trip (as of right now). So this week I’m going to share some of our favorite Hidden Mickeys with you guys.

  • My personal favorite is found inside The Haunted Mansion. Next time you’re on the ride and you are passing by the ballroom scene, look at the palates on the table. You’ll more than likely find a plate with two saucers making up the classic Mickey shape. This one seems to move around on the table from time to time. Guess it’s the ghost getting bored. Be on the lookout for others though, The Haunted Mansion has many more outside and inside of the attraction.

  • Outside of Mission: SPACE look around at the blue tiles ground and maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find this small but noticeable Hidden Mickey. We found completely by accident waiting around one day.
  • CIMG6749

  • Another of my favorites is in Mouse Gears. It shouldn’t be very hard to find about a thousand in here alone, but my favorite is along the ceiling where there’s a hole cut out and two bolts make up the ears.

  • At Hollywood Studios, check out the hand imprint of Harry Anderson at the Great Movie Ride. On the drawing of his tie you’ll find he also drew a Mickey on it. While you’re at it check out Carol Burnett’s also.
  • A pretty easy one to see is while boarding the Tower of Terror. In the pre-ride video you watch before boarding your doomed elevator, the little girl is carrying a stuffed Mickey.
  • Right next door to Tower of Terror stands Aerosmith’s Rock N’ Roller Coaster. When you come upon the scene with Aerosmith and their manager that takes place in the studio, look on the floor. There is a guitar cable wound around in circles to form the classic Mickey shape. But this one likes to be there sometimes and sometimes not.

  • In the Animal Kingdom while you are taking photos in front of the Tree of Life, take a moment to seek out the buffalo. Right next to him you’ll find a Hidden Mickey.
  • Now this next one anybody should be able to locate. At the Grand Floridian just look at the floors and you’ll find not only Mickey but also pretty much all of the Fab Five hidden throughout the floors. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and more can be found. Also check out 1900 Park Fare for more.

  • Next head over to the Polynesian and find the bamboo wall over at the stairs going to the lower level of the resort. There are many Hidden Mickeys to find in this wall.

  • And last but not least, the next one can sometimes be found in The Seas with Nemo and Friends. This one changes from time to time and can also sometimes be different characters. Inside the aquarium after getting off of the ride, characters can be found on the floor of the aquarium made out of rocks.

  • Check out the totem poles next time your walking around the Canada pavilion in EPCOT. Look on the side of one and guess what you’ll see? You guessed it another Hidden Mickey.
  • So there you have it, some of my favorite Hidden Mickeys to seek out. What are some of your faves, let us know. And don’t forget, when in the “World” look up and look down because you’ll never know what you might find.
