If you’ve visited Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort lately, you know that the winter and holiday celebration is in full swing, with Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink, the Downtown Disney Winter Village and lots of holiday décor having appeared near ESPN Zone and AMC Theatres. You can actually watch it all take shape in this time-lapse video.
I hope you can come see and skate in the rink, which is 50 by 90 feet, and features graphics of the “Frozen” story and characters including, of course, Olaf. Ninety-minute skate sessions are scheduled between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
The adjoining Downtown Disney Winter Village is bigger than ever this year and offers such gift items as “Frozen” plush toys, crystal from Arribas Brothers, art works, clothing and accessories, all sold from the windows of the charming village houses. Hot chocolate from Ghirardelli along with coffee, sweets and baked goods from La Brea Bakery are also available.
During the holiday season, guests will be delighted by the variety of holiday-themed menu and merchandise items in the restaurants and shops of Downtown Disney District. And it doesn’t have to be winter for young “Frozen” fans to get a makeover at Anna & Elsa’s Boutique, open year-round. Come and browse!
