Friend of The Main Street Mouse Steven Miller, Merchandise Communications Manager at Disney, announced some new items that are coming to Disney Centerpiece in Downtown Disney Marketplace.
Disney Centerpiece, is one of the six boutiques coming to the Marketplace Co-Op at Downtown Disney Marketplace in a few months. Disney Centerpiece will feature a line of chalkboard art-inspired home goods. The artwork for these items was created by Natalie Kennedy, senior graphic designer with Disney Design Group. Steven was able to talk to Natalie about the designs.
“Chalkboard artwork is a currently a popular market trend,” explained Natalie. “For our program, we selected iconic attractions at Disney Parks such as The Haunted Mansion or the Jungle Cruise. We also expanded the program to include items inspired by Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” The latter artwork is a nice nod to New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park.”
Some of the items that will be included in this merchandise includes plates, drinkware, drink coasters and even napkins. The items are capturing some of the most iconic attractions in Disney, including The Haunted Mansion, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and The Jungle Cruise. You will also see items that reflect the “Be Our Guest” restaurant in the new Fantasyland area of the Magic Kingdom.
These items will make their debut at Disney Centerpiece in a few months, but you will be able to find them at Disneyland Resort in the future and also the Disney Park Online Store will carry a few select items.
