Walt Disney World has a brand new resident, and she is adorable. Disney announced that a healthy baby zebra girl was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Mom Aziza delivered the foal, and the little one is already out exploring the Arusha savanna alongside the rest of the herd.
Where Can You See the Baby Zebra?
The Arusha savanna sits right in front of Jambo House, the main building at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is the savanna you see from the big windows and overlook at the back of the lobby, so it is one of the easiest spots in the resort to watch the animals.
A few tips for spotting her:
- Go early or late: The animals tend to be most active in the morning and around sunset.
- Bring patience: Young foals like to stay close to mom, so look for Aziza and the baby will not be far away.
- Ask a cultural representative: The resort’s cultural representatives and animal team members are usually out on the overlooks and love to share what the animals are up to.
If you are not staying at the resort, a meal at Boma or Jiko at Jambo House is a great excuse to stop by and look out over the savanna.
A Growing Family at Walt Disney World
Disney’s animal care team regularly welcomes new babies across Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and every new arrival is a big deal for the team and for fans. A baby on the savanna is also a great reminder that the views at Animal Kingdom Lodge are something special, even if you never leave the lobby.
Disney has not shared a name for the foal yet. We will update this post if she gets one.
