Walt Disney World held its very own Olympics this spring, and the event was all about churros. Two of the gold medal winners from the Churro-lympics are now on the menu at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and both put a fun new twist on the classic Disney churro.
What Is the Churro-lympics?
Back in April, culinary teams from across Walt Disney World went head to head in a property wide competition to reimagine the churro in creative and unexpected ways. The best ideas took home gold, and now two of those winning creations have made the jump from the competition to the parks.
Chef Brad, who leads the culinary team at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, helped develop both of the new treats.
Churro-misu Cold Brew at Isle of Java
Coffee lovers, this one is for you. The Churro-misu Cold Brew takes its inspiration from classic tiramisu. It starts with sweetened Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, then gets topped with mascarpone cream, a dusting of cocoa powder and a crunchy churro.
Chef Brad said the team “wanted the flavors of the classic tiramisu,” and it sounds like the perfect pick me up before a morning on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

- What’s in it: Sweetened Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, mascarpone cream, cocoa powder and a churro
DOLE Whip Pineapple and Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae at Warung Outpost
The second winner brings together two Disney favorites in one cup. This sundae pairs DOLE Whip with chili lime marinated pineapple and a warm cinnamon churro. Expect a mix of sweet, tart, spicy, creamy and crunchy, with some Latin inspired flavors in every bite.
- Where: Warung Outpost, near Feathered Friends in Flight! in Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- What’s in it: DOLE Whip, chili lime marinated pineapple and a warm cinnamon churro
It makes a great snack to pair with a stroll along Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek.
When Can You Try Them?
Both treats are available now at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney has not shared prices or an end date, so we would not wait too long if you want to try them. We will update this post if we learn more.
