Spider-Man fans, mark your calendars. Marvel has announced that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 arrives on Disney+ on January 13, 2027. The news was revealed at Marvel’s Television and Animation panel at New York Comic Con, along with the first look at footage from the new season.
A New Year Premiere
When Marvel first announced Season 2 at New York Comic Con last year, it was set for fall 2026. The new January date pushes it into early 2027, giving fans a new Spider-Man adventure to kick off the year.
The timing also gives the series some space after Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hit theaters this summer.
First Look: Doc Ock, Shocker and Daredevil
Marvel showed the first footage from Season 2 at the panel, and it’s packed with some of Spider-Man’s most famous foes. The montage featured:
- Doctor Octopus, one of Spider-Man’s most iconic villains
- Shocker, another classic member of Spidey’s rogues gallery
- Daredevil, who returns after a brief appearance in Season 1 to help Spider-Man take on these threats
The Symbiote Arrives
The biggest tease of all? Peter Parker will bond with the symbiote in Season 2, and it sounds like it will cause plenty of chaos across New York. A new poster revealed at the panel shows Peter dealing with the symbiote.
Marvel hasn’t confirmed whether Venom himself will appear this season, but fans are already speculating the famous villain could show up near the end of the season. For longtime Spider-Man fans, the symbiote storyline is one of the most beloved in the character’s history, so this season could be a big one.
About the Series
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a style inspired by Spider-Man’s early comic book days. Hudson Thames voices Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
If you haven’t seen it yet, Season 1 is streaming now on Disney+, so there’s plenty of time to catch up before January.
More Marvel News From NYCC
Spider-Man wasn’t the only Marvel news from New York Comic Con. Marvel also announced Zodiac, a new spy thriller series, and three new Marvel Zombies specials coming over the next three Halloweens.
