Is Bette Midler Teasing Hocus Pocus 3? Let’s Break Down the Clues

is Bette Midler Teasing Hocus Pocus 3 Lets Break Down the CluesOkay, witches, we need to talk about what Bette Midler is doing on Instagram right now, because Winifred Sanderson herself is out here lighting candles and I’m paying attention. Hocus Pocus is my favorite, so of course I’m watching!

Quick disclaimer up front: this is speculation. Bette hasn’t confirmed anything. But there are some real reasons to raise an eyebrow, so let’s walk through them.

Clue #1: “Sisssstaaaahs…prepare thyselves. ‘Tis time.”

On October 1st , the first day of spooky season, naturally, Bette posted a shadowy image of the three Sanderson sisters with that caption, tagging Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. Could it just be a Halloween post? Sure. But it’s fun to think otherwise!

Clue #2: The “Three” Post
Then yesterday (October 5th), she posted an illustration of the three sisters silhouetted against a big moon, captioned with the word “three” written in a bunch of different languages; Tres, Trois, Drei, Tre, and more.
Three. Sisters. Threequel. I’m just saying.

Clue #3: The Movie Is Actually Happening
This is the big one. Hocus Pocus 3 isn’t just fan wishful thinking, it’s officially in early development at Disney. Back in May, all three Sanderson sisters were confirmed to return. Bette herself called the script “brilliant” last fall.

So when the star of a confirmed-in-development sequel starts posting cryptic sister-themed content twice in one week? That’s not nothing.

Clue #4: The Built-In Setup
Hocus Pocus 2 ended with a post credits reveal of another Black Flame Candle. The story door is wide open. Disney doesn’t leave doors open like that without walking through them eventually. Hmm.

Could both posts just be Bette being Bette during her favorite month? Absolutely, she’s never needed a reason to be witchy in October. She’s made other Hocus Pocus posts too.

But the timing, the co-star tags, the “three” motif, and a confirmed third film in development? That’s a lot of smoke for there to be no fire. Could we be getting more information about Hocus Pocus 3? I sure hope so!

I’ll be watching her Instagram like it’s the Black Flame Candle. As soon as I hear something, I’ll be sure to share! What do you think, teasing or just spooky season? Tell me in the comments!
