Avengers: Endgame Encore debuted as the number one film globally in its opening weekend, pulling in an estimated $86 million worldwide. Domestic audiences contributed $26 million while international markets added $60 million, making it the second-highest global debut for any re-release in movie history. Not bad for a film that first hit theaters back in 2019.
Marvel Studios Hits a Historic Milestone
The Encore re-release did more than just top the weekend charts. With this opening, Marvel Studios officially crossed $35 billion at the global box office across its 38-film run, cementing its place as the most successful film franchise in history. Let that sink in for a moment — $35.075 billion across 38 films. There is simply nothing else like it in the history of cinema.

Avengers: Endgame’s cumulative worldwide gross now stands at $2.885 billion, putting it just $39 million behind Avatar, which still holds the all-time global box office record. If the Encore re-release continues to perform well in the weeks ahead particularly in international markets this record is absolutely still within reach.
Infinity Vision Was a Game Changer
The re-release played in over 3,000 theaters, with more than 1,300 of those showing it in the premium Infinity Vision large format. That format alone accounted for roughly 52 percent of the opening weekend revenue, which is a remarkable figure and a testament to how much audiences wanted the full theatrical experience for this one.
Audiences Still Love This Movie
In case there was any doubt, the audience scores prove it. Avengers: Endgame Encore holds a 96 percent verified audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earned a perfect five-star PostTrak score from both general audiences and families. Seven years after its original release, this film still hits just as hard.
What Is Coming Next
The Encore presentation included exclusive new footage previewing Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026, with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom. After a weekend like this, the excitement for Doomsday just hit a whole new level.
