If you have ever danced the night away at Atlantic Dance Hall on Disney’s BoardWalk, you will want to know about this. Walt Disney World has officially confirmed that Atlantic Dance Hall is ending its regular weekend operations, with its final night open to the public coming up very soon.
When Does It Close?
Atlantic Dance Hall’s last weekend for regular guests runs September 25 through 27, 2026, with doors open from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. each night. Beginning October 1, 2026, the venue will no longer be available for general admission guests.
If you want to say goodbye, you have this weekend to do it.
What Happens to the Space?
According to Walt Disney World’s official statement, Atlantic Dance Hall “will continue to be available for private events through Disney Meetings & Events and Disney Fairy Tale Weddings.” So the space is not going away entirely, but it will no longer be a walkup nightlife option for resort guests and visitors.
What About Jellyrolls?
Jellyrolls, the beloved dueling piano bar that has been a BoardWalk staple for years, closed in April 2025. The owners of Jellyrolls are planning to open a new location in the Lake Buena Vista area, which has freed up their current space for something new.
Meet Hurly-Burly
Taking over the Jellyrolls location on October 1 is Hurly-Burly, a brand new jazz lounge with a vintage seaside theatre concept. The space will operate in two distinct modes throughout the day. From 4 to 9 p.m., Hurly-Burly runs as a family friendly spot with trivia, games, and light bites. After 9 p.m., it transitions into a 21 and up live music experience running until 1 a.m. There is also an outdoor walk-up bar window for beverage orders. No advance reservations will be available, so it will be a walk-in experience.
The Bigger Picture at Disney’s BoardWalk
Atlantic Dance Hall is just one part of an ongoing transformation happening along the BoardWalk. A Basin soap shop is opening in the former Promenade Fine Art Gallery location, and a new counter service restaurant is also on the way in the space where Big River Grille & Brewing Works used to be. Disney’s BoardWalk is clearly in the middle of a significant refresh right now.
A Look Back at Atlantic Dance Hall
Atlantic Dance Hall opened along with the rest of Disney’s BoardWalk in 1996 and has been a fixture of the resort’s entertainment scene for three decades. In recent years, the venue operated primarily on weekends and was often quiet during regular nights, sustaining itself largely through convention bookings and wedding events, particularly during the busy fall months. It was one of the last late night options at Walt Disney World for regular guests, which makes its closure a notable shift in the resort’s nightlife landscape.
