Where Can You Find PhotoPass Photographers?
There are over 175 designated photo spots across all four Walt Disney World theme parks. This is where things get really fun. Magic Shots are exclusive special effects that PhotoPass photographers can add digitally to your photos. We are talking character overlays, pixie dust, seasonal designs, and event specific touches. There are over 100 of them, and they are available at no extra cost. Just ask your photographer if Magic Shots are available at that location and they will take care of the rest.
Ride Photos and Videos
PhotoPass also covers more than a dozen Walt Disney World attractions with on-ride photography and video. Some of these have really fun personalized elements, like your mission score showing up on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin or a concert style poster created from your Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster photo. Signature Portrait Sessions are available at Disney resort hotels and offer up to 40 minutes of photo capture and consultation time, along with special props, professional retouching, and digital downloads. Here is the key thing to understand about PhotoPass: the photos themselves are free to take, but downloading them requires purchasing Memory Maker. Memory Maker gives you access to all of your vacation photos and videos in one place, including ride photos, Magic Shots, and everything your PhotoPass photographers captured. You can access everything through the My Disney Experience app or the Disney PhotoPass online gallery.
The smart move is to purchase Memory Maker in advance of your trip. Disney typically offers a savings of around $25 when you buy ahead of time rather than waiting until you are already at the parks.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of PhotoPass
Ask for Magic Shots every time. Not every location has them, but you will never know unless you ask.
Make sure every member of your party links their MagicBand, card, or MagicMobile pass so all of your photos automatically populate in one place in the app.
Do not skip the resort and Disney Springs photographers. The lines are shorter, the settings are beautiful, and these spots are often overlooked by guests who only think to look for photographers inside the parks.
