The film has officially passed Avatar: The Way of Water ($2.32 billion) to claim the #3 spot on the all-time worldwide box office chart. The only two films still ahead of it are Avengers: Endgame ($2.80 billion) and James Cameron’s original Avatar ($2.92 billion). At the rate Brand New Day has been performing, the conversation about whether it can eventually challenge those records is very much alive.
To put it another way: this is now the highest-grossing solo superhero film in history — and it’s still in theaters.
