Under the agreement, Disney licenses its characters and stories to Feld Entertainment, which then brings them to life through global touring productions. Feld’s creative team handles everything from writing the storylines and composing the music to designing and producing the costumes, sets, and props. From there, their world-class figure skaters take it all to the ice for audiences around the world. Feld is currently the largest employer of professional figure skaters on the planet, with approximately 400 skaters from countries all over the globe performing under their banner at any given time.
This new deal builds on a partnership that has been going strong since 1981, making Feld Entertainment the longest-standing licensee in Walt Disney Company history at 45 years. In that time, Disney On Ice has entertained more than 350 million people across 577 cities in 80 countries, sharing Disney stories in 41 different languages. Those numbers are truly staggering, and this new 10-year commitment means millions more fans will get the chance to see their favorite Disney characters glide across the ice for years to come.
