Disneyland Resort is taking its mission to spread joy beyond the parks in a big way this week. On August 27, the resort is hosting the Happiest Day in Anaheim, a community celebration for local residents that includes treat stops, surprise character visits, and plenty of unexpected Disney magic scattered throughout the city. The event builds on last year’s 70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim initiative, which brought a three-day citywide celebration to mark Disneyland‘s 70th anniversary.
The fun actually started early, with Disney VoluntEARS already making surprise stops at community centers and events across Anaheim throughout the month. More than 2,000 residents have already been treated to a little Disney magic, with visits at spots like Oak Canyon Nature Center’s summer camp and the YMCA Sports Complex. Families were greeted with bubble wands, Mickey Mouse plush toys, Minnie Mouse ears, and plenty of smiles.
