We have an update from Disney for you today! As of tomorrow, January 21, all guests will be able to purchase the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Previously it was only for select WDW resort guests, but starting tomorrow off property guests will have the same opportunity. Here’s how it’s worded on Disney’s website-
Updates for Lightning Lane Premier Pass
Beginning January 21, Walt Disney World Resort will expand the Lightning Lane Premier Pass pilot to all Guests. Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels will be eligible to purchase up to 7 days before the first day of their Resort stay—and other Guests will be eligible to purchase up to 3 days in advance of their park visit.
This recently released pass was a bit controversial due to its price, but it must be working since they are extending it to more people.
How It Works
• Get one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience in a park for one day, including the most in-demand attractions.
• Ride the attractions you want, when you want. You don’t need to choose specific arrival times.
• Enjoy photo perks, including digital downloads of select attraction photos and videos. Plus, unlock Disney PhotoPass Lenses. View more details.

How to Purchase and Use This Pass
Before You Purchase
Please review your Family & Friends list to make sure everyone in your party is connected, is a registered Guest at an eligible Resort hotel and has valid theme park admission. Park reservations may also be required, depending on the type of admission and date of your visit.
How to Purchase
Find “Lightning Lane Premier Pass” on the home screen of the My Disney Experience app, then tap “Purchase”. Follow the prompts to complete your purchase—and receive a confirmation.
Price
Prices for Lightning Lane Premier Passes vary by date and theme park. Eligible Guests will be able to view prices for up to 21 days in advance in the My Disney Experience app. Prices may be higher during peak periods, including holidays.
Using Your Pass
To use your Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you’ll go to the Lightning Lane entrance for an available attraction or experience, then tap in using a MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, Key to the World Card or ticket card that’s linked to your valid theme park admission.
Keep Track of the Fun
You can use the My Disney Experience app to see your Lightning Lane experiences for the day—including which ones remain available, and which ones you’ve already redeemed.
