On Thursday, January 16, 2025, we were invited to a special preview of the new Universal Stella Nova Resort, which is adjacent to new Epic Universe Theme Park that opens in May. This new resort has been brought to life by the award-winning Universal Creative team and co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels & Co. The new resort is set to open on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 and is considered a Prime Value Hotel. When information about the resort was shared in April 2024, the affordable price point started at $147 (per night, plus tax) based on a stay of four nights or more. The theme of the resort is a new galaxy inspired by the infinite vastness of the unknown universe with fresh, cosmic-inspired surroundings.
Upon walking up to the hotel, the first thing you notice are the colorful 140,000 tiles that make up the outside of the building. The tiles that change hues as perspective changes and as the sun shifts.
Upon walking into the lobby, you enter another galaxy. Once inside, you’ll find the fresh surroundings shine as brilliantly as the shifting colors of the universe. In the lobby there is a place to drop-off your bags if you arrive before your room is ready and want to get to the parks. The check in desk sits just past the baggage area. Across from the check in area you will see a Vacation Planning Center where you can get any help you need with planning your perfect vacation. Also, in the lobby is a Universal Studios Store where you can get some great souvenirs to commemorate your trip.
Toward the back of the lobby you will see the Nova Bar, which will offer specialty cocktails curated with unique ingredients along with the classics. Their signature drinks are the Super Nova and the Nebula. The Super Nova, is made with whiskey, cherry-infused Campari, served smoked over a large ice cube. The Nebula, which is a Mezcal shaken with strawberry-rose syrup and topped with tonic and soda. The Nova Bar uses an enclosed smoke vessels to infuse intriguing flavor profiles into the drinks. All the classics are available as well, along with beer and wine.
If you’re looking for food options, there is the Cosmos Cafe and Market. This quick service restaurant features made-to-order American classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a selection of grab-and-go items. If you are just looking for your morning Starbucks, something quick to grab on the way out or an ice cream at the end of the day, the Market is the place to visit. If you are looking for more of a meal, the Cosmos Cafe has some great options. We got to sample their Gooey Monkey Bread, Hot Honey Chicken Pizza, Banana – Walnut Buttermilk Pancakes and stuffed croissants. In addition to these specialities they will a full menu of American food options such as burgers, chicken tenders, sandwiches and more.
Just outside the building is the nearly 10,000 square foot resort pool with a relaxing hot tub, comfortable lounge and table-top seating in the pool area, a fire pit and more. There are also other recreational activities for the entire family to enjoy like poolside movies and outdoor games. Near the pool area is the Galaxy Bar and Galaxy Grill. At this poolside bar & grill you can get burgers, quesadillas, and salads, along with specialty cocktails, wines and beer. They also have Coca-Cola Freestyle machines nearby.
The Stella Nova Resort offers 750 double-queen guest rooms that comfortably sleep up to four guests and feature spaceship-styled windows –making this the ultimate escape for guests looking to rest amongst stars and planets. There are 2 different views from your room, either Epic Universe or the amenities view that showcases their very large resort pool area. The size of the pool area is nearly 10,000 square foot with a relaxing hot tub, comfortable lounge and table-top seating in the pool area, a fire pit and more. There are also other recreational activities for the entire family to enjoy like poolside movies and outdoor games.
Some other amenities of the resort include a fitness center where guests can take advantage of complimentary, state-of-the-art strength and cardio equipment–and, locker rooms with showers available for use on arrival and departure days. Next to the fitness center is a game room where guests of all ages can enjoy a variety of standard arcade and video games. There is also a recreation room that features approximately 1,000 square-feet of multi-purpose space for small gatherings.
