The holidays are my favorite time of year, and there’s no place more magical this holiday season than Walt Disney World Resort. From spotting Santa to connecting with a Merry Menagerie artisan puppet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and being delighted by holiday décor around every corner, Walt Disney World is truly the Most Magical Place on Earth during the holidays.
This year, MagicBand+ is making the holiday season at Walt Disney World even more enchanting with new experiences – whether you’re attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or relishing the festive foods, beverages, and celebrations at the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
Here are a few ways you can use MagicBand+ to make your holiday visit more festive.
1. Exchange holiday greetings with your favorite Disney characters during the Disney Fab 50 Quest
With a wave of your MagicBand+, you can bring some of your favorite Disney Fab 50 Character Collection sculptures to life during the Disney Fab 50 Quest, available at all four theme parks. During the holiday season, your favorite characters are in the holiday spirit and may share cheerful messages as you complete your quest. We recently visited with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, Donald, and Mickey and Minnie, who were all in the spirit of the season. Check out the reel above for a preview!
2. Sparkle with the show during “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” and Nighttime Spectaculars
One of my favorite things about MagicBand+ is seeing families with their wrists aglow during nighttime spectaculars. During the holiday season, MagicBand+ shines in numerous colors and vibrates in sync with “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park. And don’t forget, MagicBand+ also interacts with other nighttime spectaculars across Walt Disney World Resort, including the newly reopened “Fantasmic!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’re seeing “Fantasmic!” this holiday season for the first time since it reopened, you are in for a treat! MagicBand+ dazzles throughout the show, which includes some amazing new scenes!
And if you haven’t seen the Beacon of Magic at Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, it truly is amazing. Every time I visit EPCOT at nighttime, I’m always mesmerized. Throughout the International Festival of the Holidays, EPCOT is offering a special holiday-themed Beacon of Magic, featuring festive music. You can become part of the show as well, as MagicBand+ lights up in the same colors as Spaceship Earth. It’s a magical feeling seeing yourself glow along with Spaceship Earth. You must check it out!
3. Customize your MagicBand+ with a holiday light-up theme
One of the best ways to make MagicBand+ your own is by customizing your band with unique light-up themes found in the My Disney Experience app. If you head to the MagicBand+ section of the app, you can select your own light up theme for your band. During the holiday season, a festive light up theme will be available. If you like twinkly lights during the holidays as much as I do, you will love using this effect to bring a merry effect to your wrist! Simply double-tap the top of your band to activate the effect and show off your holiday spirit
4. Conveniently link your holiday Disney PhotoPass memories
Memories with loved ones are what make the holiday season so wonderful. Every holiday season, I look back at my favorite photos from the first time my fiancé and I visited Walt Disney World during the holidays. My favorites are the ones with a little extra holiday magic thanks to Disney PhotoPass Magic Shots. This year, there are a variety of limited-time Magic Shots available to make your photos even merrier – and with MagicBand+, collecting cherished Disney PhotoPass memories is as simple as a tap of your wrist when your photos are taken!
