Summer is the perfect season to spend quality time together on the water, and there’s no better time to get outside than National Fishing & Boating Week. This national celebration runs June 4 through June 12 and highlights not only the importance of conserving our waterways and practicing safe fishing and boating, but also the fun and relaxing activities that come with it. And thanks to our friends at Take Me Fishing, you and your family can enjoy unique fishing adventures right here at Walt Disney World Resort!
Departing from marinas at select Disney Resort hotels, you can embark on a catch-and-release fishing excursion that combines the tranquility of fishing with the magic of Disney. You’ll be joined by a trained Take Me Fishing fishing guide who will customize the outing based on your level of knowledge and comfort. So, whether you’re a family of adventurers, a group of friends looking to relax, or a solo avid angler, this one-of-a-kind experience on the picturesque lakes and lagoons surrounding our parks and resorts is sure to make a splash!
If you’re interested in fishing from land, we got you covered! Dockside fishing featuring a casting-rod is also available at the Fishin’ Hole at Old Man Island at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort–Riverside and the Bike Barn at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Looking to hone your skills before your fishing adventures at Walt Disney World Resort? We’ve created a visual guide inspired by your favorite master fisherman Goofy and his casting technique called “The Perfect Cast” as seen in “A Goofy Movie.” Or to really study up on your cast, check out this helpful reel-world guide by Take Me Fishing!
Whether you’re trying fishing for the first time or a seasoned boater, there are plenty of activities to reel in at Walt Disney World Resort this summer – and all year long!
