Today The Walt Disney Company announced a new multi-year exclusive licensing agreement to develop and publish new games based on Star Wars characters and storylines. I would think die hard Star Wars Fans and Gamers in general will be happy about this one!
Under the agreement, EA will develop and publish new Star Wars titles for a core gaming audience, geared towards most platforms and popular game genres, while Disney will retain certain rights to develop new titles within the mobile, social, tablet and online game categories.
This is big news, being that Electronic Arts is one of the top leaders in digital interactive entertainment. The collaboration between Disney’s imagination and creativity, and the amazing technology and graphics of EA, should equal a huge success for both companies.
