Today is National Popcorn Day in the United States, and since popcorn is one of my absolute FAVORITE snacks, this is a very special holiday for me. Each year, our amazing cast members pop up thousands of pounds of light, fluffy, buttery popcorn, proudly provided by PopSecret, both here in the US and around the world. When you visit a Disney park, you can find a popcorn stand around nearly every corner!
To me, nothing makes for a more perfect memory (and Instagrammable moment!) than snacking on some popcorn in front of an iconic Disney castle like Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland Resorts, Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland and Disneyland Paris Resorts, Enchanted Storybook Castle at Shanghai Disney Resort, and once its magical transformation is complete, the brand new Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. And did you know that each of these resorts has their own set of unique popcorn flavors? That’s right! If you travel to our parks and resorts across the globe, you’ll find tons of different types of popcorn in almost every park.
At Walt Disney World Resort, you can find a variety of flavors at Epcot. Head on over the Future World Popcorn Cart near Journey Into Imagination with Figment to grab your choice of cheddar cheese, buffalo bleu cheese, or sour cream and chive popcorn or mosey on over to the popcorn stand at the Canada pavilion to try some sweet maple popcorn! The Karamell Kuche at the Germany pavilion also offers a sweet option, popcorn coated in yummy Werther’s caramel.
Right now, you can also check out the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, where you’ll find a fun popcorn pairing flight at Refreshment Outpost. This unique offering features three different types of popcorn each paired with a special beer: Barrel of Monks Brewery Endless Enigma Golden Pale Ale with Bacon Barbecue Popcorn, Collective Arts Brewing Life in the Clouds Hazy IPA with Jalapeño Ranch Popcorn, and M.I.A. Beer Company Malt Bach Brown Ale with Buffalo Bleu Cheese Popcorn. (For more info on the festival, check out my recent Foodie Guide!)
If you’re traveling to the Black Spire Outpost at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, you won’t want to miss the Outpost Popcorn Mix at Kat Saka’s Kettle featuring a colorful blend of sweet and spicy flavors. It’s even served up in a cute little droid bucket!
Drive on over to Radiator Springs at Disney California Adventure park to grab some “i-cone-ic” flavors of popcorn at the Cozy Cone Motel! Here you’ll find multiple flavors of popcorn including Dill Pickle, Buffalo Ranch, White Cheddar, Sriracha, Pizza, and Garlic Parmesan. You can even order it in a Lightning McQueen popcorn bucket, KA-CHOW!
Even though National Popcorn Day is a United States holiday, our international parks and resorts have their own incredible offerings that I just have to share! At Tokyo Disneyland Resort, you can find flavors like caramel, curry, honey, black pepper, strawberry, and more at various popcorn wagons throughout the resort. At Shanghai Disneyland, we recently introduced strawberry, steak, and crayfish flavors throughout the different lands. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort also has its own unique set of flavors including honey mustard and Italian salt and pepper. And finally, at Disneyland Paris, you can find sweet and savory popcorn at both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.
And at all of our parks and resorts around the world and even Disney Cruise Line and Aulani – A Disney Resort & Spa, you’ll find a variety of the popular novelty popcorn buckets our guests love so much! These premium popcorn buckets come in all shapes and sizes from Mickey balloon buckets to character buckets, holiday containers, and even Cinderella’s Royal Carriage. These novelty change throughout the year, and make for the perfect souvenir to take home with you! You never know what you might find when visiting the parks.
So, from all of us at Disney Parks, we hope you have a POPPIN’ National Popcorn Day! And remember, whether you’re taking in a nighttime spectacular with fireworks, watching a movie in your Disney resort hotel room, or simply sneaking in a snack in between attractions, there’s no better place to get your POP on than with Disney. Happy snacking!
