Some wishes are made for the holidays, and this one was made for both of them. Wednesday, a 6 year old Make-A-Wish kid who loves The Nightmare Before Christmas, wished to help Walt Disney World make the jump from Halloween to Christmas. This week, Jack Skellington and Sally made that wish come true at Magic Kingdom.
A Perfect Wish for the Season Switch
The timing could not have been better. Main Street, U.S.A. had just traded its pumpkins for wreaths and twinkling lights, and Jack and Sally invited Wednesday to add some holiday touches to their own little corner of Halloween Town inside Magic Kingdom.
It is a fitting wish for a fan of the film. After all, Jack spends the whole movie trying to bring Christmas to Halloween Town, and Wednesday got to help him do it for real.
Hide and Go Shriek and a Search for Zero
Wednesday and her sisters started the fun with a game of “Hide and Go Shriek” alongside Jack. From there, the girls went looking for Zero, Jack’s loyal ghost dog, and the search quickly turned into a full scavenger hunt.
A Song, a Show and an Encore
Sally shared a performance, and Wednesday sang one of her favorite songs from the film. Then the girls put on a show of their own, complete with cartwheels and dancing, and earned cheers for an encore.
A Snowflake Ornament Straight From Christmas Town
The sweetest moment of the day came with a custom snowflake ornament inspired by the very first snowflake Jack discovers when he stumbles into Christmas Town. Wednesday helped place the ornament on Jack’s tree, and she got to take home a matching one of her own to remember the day.
A Memory the Family Will Treasure
Wednesday’s mom, Kelly, said the day is a memory the family will always treasure, calling it “the beginning of the rest of our lives.”
