The Electric Mayhem is ready to rock the halls! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay debuted today, Wednesday, November 4, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, bringing a festive twist to the coaster for its very first holiday season since the Muppets took over in May. The overlay runs through January 6, 2027.
To celebrate the debut, Walt Disney Imagineering shared a behind the scenes look on Instagram at the work that went into decking out the attraction, from new holiday props and decorations to updated seasonal graphics.
A Holiday Pre-Show With the Electric Mayhem
The holiday fun starts before you board. In the pre-show, Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot and Lips are deep in rehearsals for their holiday spectacular, and a few familiar Muppets friends stop by the studio to offer a helping hand (or at least try to). Holiday touches carry through the queue and pre-show, too.

The Holiday Soundtrack
Once you launch, you’ll hear one of the Electric Mayhem’s holiday tracks:
- “Holiday Road” featuring Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear
- “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” featuring Jennifer Hudson
- “Silver Bells” featuring Cyndi Lauper
- “Little Saint Nick”
New Holiday Ride Photos
Your on-ride photo is getting festive, too. Throughout the overlay, guests will receive one of three holiday PhotoPass designs featuring the Electric Mayhem, including a red “Merry Mayhem” concert poster with Animal and Kermit in Santa hats and the tagline “One Night to Rock the Halls,” and a Christmas ornament frame with a sneaky “Obligatory Easter Egg” road sign.
More Holiday Overlays at Walt Disney World
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster isn’t the only attraction getting into the holiday spirit. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is bringing back its Holiday Remix at EPCOT, Alien Swirling Saucers has a new holiday playlist at Hollywood Studios, and Jingle Cruise is now sailing at Magic Kingdom.
Heading to Hollywood Studios after dark? Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is one of the attractions open during Disney Jollywood Nights, which starts this Saturday. Grab a holiday Kermit straw clip while you’re there, and see everything happening this season in our Christmas at Walt Disney World 2026 guide.
