In a move few fans saw coming, Disney is sending some of its biggest titles to Netflix. A new licensing deal announced October 2 brings Percy Jackson and the Olympians, all five Ice Age movies, ABC’s Will Trent, and Pixar favorites like Soul and Elio to the streamer over the coming months.

These titles are not leaving Disney’s own services. They’ll stay on Disney+ and Hulu while also streaming on Netflix, so fans can watch them in either place.
Streaming on Netflix Now
Two of the biggest titles have already arrived, each for a three-month window around the world:
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Seasons 1 and 2. The timing helps build excitement for Season 3, which premieres on Disney+ on November 20.
- All five original Ice Age movies. These arrive just ahead of Ice Age: Boiling Point, which hits theaters in February 2027.
Coming Soon
More titles will follow over the next few months:
- Felicity: October 7 in the United States
- Will Trent, Seasons 1 to 4: November 3, before Season 5 arrives on ABC in early 2027
- Shifting Gears, Seasons 1 and 2: December 1 in the United States, then January 7, 2027 internationally
- Pixar’s Soul and Elio, plus Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon: early 2027, with availability varying by country

The deal also brings classic series like Revenge, Army Wives, and Fresh Off the Boat to Netflix in many regions. This Is Us and Tracker are part of the deal too, but only outside the United States.
A Big Change in Strategy
This is a big shift for Disney. Before Disney+ launched in 2019, Netflix was the streaming home for Disney’s new movies. Disney ended that arrangement to keep its biggest titles for its own service, and former CEO Bob Iger once compared licensing content to Netflix to “selling nuclear weapons technology” to a rival.
Since then, Disney has made smaller deals with Netflix, including a 2023 agreement that brought older series like Scandal and Black-ish to the streamer for a limited time. This new deal goes further, with current hits and beloved animated films. Using Netflix to promote new seasons and upcoming movies, like Percy Jackson Season 3 and Ice Age: Boiling Point, shows Disney now sees the streamer as a way to reach even more fans.
