What We Know About the Reopening

Advance Dining Reservations for the Grand Floridian Cafe are already open, with dinner service kicking off at 5:00 p.m. on November 2 and running through 9:00 p.m. Availability is currently showing wide open, so if this is on your must-do list for a fall or early winter trip, now is a great time to lock in a reservation.

One thing to keep in mind: brunch will not immediately return to the Grand Floridian Cafe on reopening day. During the closure, the beloved Grand Floridian Cafe brunch has been available at Cítricos from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and that arrangement runs through November 1. Whether brunch returns to its original home shortly after the November 2 reopening remains to be seen, so keep an eye on the Disney dining reservations page for updates.

A Restaurant Getting the Refresh It Deserved

The Grand Floridian Cafe has been a staple of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for decades, beloved for its classic Victorian charm and solid American comfort food. But the space had been showing its age a bit, with decor that felt more 1990s than the freshly updated aesthetic the rest of the resort has been moving toward in recent years.

Disney has not released specific details about what the refurbishment includes, but expectations are high for a meaningful update to the dining room. Think new carpet, updated furniture, fresh window treatments, and a general modernization that brings the cafe in line with the resort’s current look and feel while keeping the warmth and character that makes it special.

And of course, the big menu question: will the fan favorites stay? The buttermilk fried chicken has long been a guest favorite, and there is hope that some of the classic signatures make it to the other side of the renovation. We will be watching closely for any menu previews leading up to opening day.
