Marvel Studios brought one of the biggest announcements of D23 2026 to the stage, officially revealing the cast of the upcoming X-Men film. Directed by Jake Schreier, who previously helmed “Thunderbolts,” the movie is set for release on May 5, 2028, and the lineup of actors is already generating serious buzz among Marvel fans.
Sadie Sink leads the cast as Jean Grey, a role she previously teased in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” Joining her are Kit Connor as Scott Summers (Cyclops), Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Many of the cast members were meeting each other for the very first time at the D23 event itself, which made for a genuinely exciting moment on stage. Sink told the crowd, “It is so wonderful to be here and to finally be able to talk about this character,” after months of fan speculation surrounding the project.
The villain reveal was equally thrilling. Adam Driver announced his casting as Nathaniel Milbury via a video message from Pinewood Studios, joking that he may have initially misread what he was signing up for. Kevin Feige also confirmed that additional casting announcements are still to come, so this is just the beginning of what is shaping up to be a massive MCU chapter.
