Trainers, get ready! The Pokémon Happy Meal is returning to McDonald’s restaurants across the United States on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, and this time it comes with a fun new twist. Along with collectible trading cards, each Happy Meal includes a Pokémon toy shaped like a mini Happy Meal box, plus a brand new digital game you can unlock right from the box.

The collaboration arrives during Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebration, and it is shaping up to be one of the biggest McDonald’s and Pokémon team ups yet, rolling out to dozens of countries through early 2027.
What Comes in the Pokémon Happy Meal?
This promotion features two separate collections to complete:
- 15 collectible toys designed as miniature Happy Meal boxes, each featuring a different Pokémon
- 15 collectible Pokémon trading cards
McDonald’s has confirmed that Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, Squirtle, and Umbreon are among the Pokémon included. The promotional artwork also shows Piplup and Eevee popping out of Happy Meal boxes, with Pikachu front and center on the packaging.
Based on leaked promotional materials shared by Pokémon collectors, each Happy Meal is expected to include two random cards from the 15 card set, which reportedly includes Pokémon like Metagross, Zoroark, and Jirachi. That is a change from past promotions, which typically included a four card booster pack. The mini box toys are also reported to double as a display frame for your cards.

The New Way to Play: A Digital Scavenger Hunt
Here is the “exciting new way” part. Each Pokémon Happy Meal box has a QR code that unlocks an interactive game. Once you scan it, you can search for all 15 Pokémon Happy Meal toys hidden around a virtual classroom and playground.
It gives kids, and plenty of grown up Pokémon fans, a way to “catch” the whole collection digitally, even if you do not find every toy in real life.

When Is the Pokémon Happy Meal Coming to Other Countries?
The United States is in the first wave, but McDonald’s is taking this promotion around the world:
- November 2026: United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, France, and Spain
- December 2026: More than 40 markets including Germany, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, the UAE, and much of Europe
- January 2027: Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, the Philippines, Thailand, and more across Latin America
- February 2027: United Kingdom and Ireland
Exact launch dates outside the United States have not been announced yet.
Tips for Collectors
Pokémon Happy Meals have been extremely popular in recent years, and cards have been known to disappear quickly. If you are hoping to complete either set, plan to visit early in the promotion. Toys are typically available while supplies last at participating restaurants, so availability can vary by location.
